My Xbox One keeps going back to home screen when I try to load my game.

My Xbox One keeps going to the home screen on its own when I'm trying to play battlefield 4. It stops the game.

 

Lagging Screen

I wonder if someone can help. A few days ago, the home screen when I turn on my xbox keeps "lagging". Meaning I try to move from screen to screen and it keeps running back to the original screen. Help ?

 

Try doing a hard reset exactly like this. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
Once it is back up and operational test for results. Let us know. Good Luck!!

 

Seeing the way the game acts before it goes back home, I believe that the game is crashing.

As the game freezes before it crashes:

- The game could be installed incorrectly

- Try to reinstall the game:

- Go to my games > roll over the game that has a problem > Press (≡) > Manage > Uninstall game*

- Try to put the game disk in, or go to the store page, and try to install it again

I hope that this helps your problem. The main reason I know this is that the same thing happened to me with Fallout 4.

* Before uninstalling the game, make sure you have the game data saved to the cloud, or else you will lose all of your data for that game

 

I have done a hard reset exactly like you mentioned, it is still the same. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the game, still the same. I decided to reboot everything back to factory mode and refill the information needed just like the first time I
played my Xbox One, and try to load in my game. Still the same! I really don`t know what is wrong with my console. Do you have better ways of fixing it? Thanks anyway!

 

It could also be corruption resulting in crashes. Can you tell, me how many, games is this happening with or is it with one game. If it is multiple, then it is a corrupted file / code on the console may need
repairs / offline diagnostic tool / factory reset (Full factory reset not the one that keeps Games & apps) everyone of these will fixes internal corruption. If it is with one game then it's not the console it is your save which should be auto detected
and then display a pop up stating that there has been corrupted data and you have, lost your save.

 

It happens to two games that I am playing recently. One is Nba 2K16, another one Rise of Tomb Raider. For example, if I was to play MyGm on Nba 2k16, I would be taken to a conversation with the gm regarding the team I was playing. During the conversation,
the gm would tell me that some player in the roster is not feeling wanted, then I was given three options to choose, such as change the roster positions. Everytime when I choose the 2nd one, my Xbox One goes back to the home screen like what happens here in
the video I uploaded. If I choose another option, my game progresses in Nba 2k16. It did not happen when I was playing Nba 2k16 until this year. So I don`t know if it is the problem of my games or my console. I have also done factory reset with everything
I downloaded to my console removed, and the problem is still there.

 

Here is the update: I had brought my Xbox One to a game store for inspection. The person told me he has never seen such a case in playing Xbox One. He recommended me to purchase a new Xbox One, indicating it mightbe the problem on the console. I did what
he said, buying another brand new Xbox One. I have just tried to load my save again on my new Xbox One, hoping that that problem will not show up this time. However it does happen again. So I guess it is not my old Xbox One problem. I just spent a fortune
trying to solve this issue, and it doesn`t work. It happens exactly like the video I uploaded. Has anyone here had problem loading the saves, in which you were brought back to the home screen repeatedly as you tried to load the save? It happened when I was
playing Soviet Installation stage in Rise of Tomb Raider. I hope it is not the problem of my account as I have too many important saves on this account. Any helpful advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

 

Are you in Preview? I have seen this from the recent Preview update and it is supposed to be patched with the update that will be released tomorrow.

If you are in Preview you should be posting this in the Preview forums and not in the regular forums and then reporting via the console tools every time this happens.

There is a Preview operating system program that Xbox One users can join. If you don't know what that is I'll assume you aren't a member. Just Google the term Xbox Preview.

 

I am just an average gamer. I am not a member of the Preview. Do you have any idea why this happens whenever I try to load my save? I don`t think keep buying a new Xbox One is the best solution at this point. Any good sugestion would be highly appreciated.

i'm having the same issue but only with rise of the tomb raider. just bought it yesterdayand tried it for the first time today. every time i press start to go to main menu the game crashes. its the only game that does this on my xbox. i've uninstalled and
redownloaded the game and still the same thing. some times it even fully reboots my xbox. i've been looking around and clearly from what it looks like im not the only one having this issue. at this point i feel like its the game and im considering contacting
xbox one and getting a refund. highly disappointed for i've been waiting a while to play this game and then i finally get my hands on it (via the xbox one ultimate game sale) and the game doesnt even work. Does anyone know if there's gonna be a fix for it?
And how long?
