My Xbox one is shut off but disk still running !

My Xbox one is completely shut down but I’m finding that in the morning the disk is still spinning I don’t know what is happening or when it starts doing this never noticed before it is hot when I take it out and I now can’t hear anything running anymore please help

If you have instant-on mode enabled on your Xbox One, the console doesn’t fully shut down. Instead, it enters a low power mode and it can cause the issue you're having. You can always disable this feature using these steps:

Press the Guide button on your controller.

Navigate to System > Settings.

Navigate to Power & startup > Power mode & startup.

Select Power mode.

Select Energy saving.

After that, try doing a Power Reset to your console too:

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Unplug all the cables (power, HDMI, etc..) and wait 5 minutes.

3. After 5 minutes, plug all the cables in again and turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console.

you can only install one disk at a time, the games still run off of the disk and will not let you install a game wile playing the other from disk. if you downloaded the game from the market place then yes you can play one game and install another.

360 doesn't actually install games. It creates an image of the disk on the HDD, so the data is still compressed.

What JohnnyVonRotten meant was, all 360 games are designed to run off the disk. They have to function without the HDD. This is not a problem on the next-gen cos both Xbox One and PS4 games have to be installed.

FYI, just opened the Xbox app on laptop and was able to run Forza 5 with no issues. Closed it out, closed xbox app, shut off laptop. Still can't run from this new computer.

surely its now running off the install, not from the disk, try running some DVD's, and unstalling and reinstalling it to make sure its still working.
