My Xbox One is running horribly...

Over the past couple of months my Xbox One has progressively started to run really poorly. Not the console itself, but the Dashboard/UI. It takes forever to load, some of my downloaded games will say "Content Currently Unavailable", sometimes my Games/Apps
won't even show up when I go to look at them... Moving around the dashboard is slow, menus don't load, I get the spinning loading wheel on almost everything... If I go to view the XBL Gold Deals it'll often take me to a page that just gives me like three options,
view terms of service, renew gold, and stop sharing gold. It never loads up the actual deals or savings. My XBL doesn't expire til September of this year. When the deals eventually load up attempting to actually view the deal or download/install is a crapshot,
often it'll just bring up the spinning wheel and sometimes it won't even say I've installed it but 30 mins later I get the notification that it's ready to play.

Now at first I thought it was my internet connection, but being a cable technician myself I've already ruled all of that out. My speeds are blazing fast, my modem/router is NAT Open, ports are properly open, and it's hardwired not wifi.

What in the hell is going on? I've never had this issue with my Xbox One... Could it be my external HDD? I've restarted the Xbox One using the 10 second reset thing but that seems to improve it temporarily. Any ideas? Using my Xbox One is starting to become
a chore for anything other than Netflix.

    :)

  3. El Gato locking up Hulu

I had an incident the other day where my Hulu App was running very sluggish and locking up my Xbox One. Previously I was recording some COD gameplay using my El Gato and it had caused my system to fail horribly. I stopped recording and kept playing. I later
tried to use Hulu and it kept locking up even after repeated restarts. The fix was just to unplug my El Gato (from USB) and plug it back in. LIKE IF THIS HELPED!

You could try resetting it to factory default but then you would have to install everything again so I don't know how you feel about that? Have you phoned support to see if they can help?

try doing a hard reset by holding the power button until it turns off, if thats doesn't work take Mr B's advice.

This stuff can happen if your internet is not running properly as well.

You ought to look into this as well.

I work for a cable company, I've already checked and confirmed it's not my internet. It's specifically my Xbox One that's having issues and it's mostly just the dashboard/UI. The Xbox Store doesn't load, etc. but Netflix runs fine and so does multiplayer.

My suggestion would be to do a hard reset like this. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console. Once it is back up and operational test for results. If that doesn't work and your internet connection is good then as suggested it may be time for a factory reset.

how many times are people going to ask this person to do a hard reset, he has done this and stated in the original post this fixes it temporarely, my advice is move all your games to the external hdd, then do a full manafacture reset and redownload your
profile once that is done plug in the hdd again and should be good to go, if it still has issues then i suggest contacting support.

Haha, yeah I've done that 10 second reset thing numerous times which usually fixes it temporarily. I went ahead and moved EVERYTHING to my External HDD and did a Factory Reset. I also changed my start mode from Instant On to Energy Saving as I've heard that
can cause some issues after a while. My Xbox One is still recognizing my HDD and loading everything so we'll see what happens. Thanks for the advice, I've done pretty much everything so if this doesn't work I guess I'll just deal with it. I highly doubt Xbox
Support will offer anything better than what I've already done.

might try changing your DNS servers, while your connection to the internet maybe good, your cable company's DNS servers may not be sending your traffic through the best route. try using Google DNS or OpenDNS.

may also be a LAN issue, maybe a bad cable? maybe the network interface on the X1 is going bad? maybe try connecting it to the WiFi to see if that makes a difference.

I'll look into the whole DNS thing. Just seems so weird that I've NEVER had this issue before and it's the past month or two that it's crept up. I changed the ethernet cable and tried WiFi both 2.4GHz/5GHz and they all do the same thing. It seems to be better
since the Factory Reset but when I turn the console on most of the Xbox Dashboard doesn't load up like the XBL Gold Deal, etc. It's just empty space all around.

    ..........

Hello "Black WolfXCI" My Xbox One is running horribly... :)

    ..........

For some reason, some users have problems with their Xbox One being in the Instant On power state (white light on power brick).

With that being said, I would either try to put it in the Stand By power state (orange light on power brick) so that the Xbox One cold starts every single time you turn it on.

    ...........

Also, if you use the Instant On setting, I would try " Re-starting the console " via the sprocket icon on the side bar and it will cold start your Xbox One for you My Xbox One is running horribly... :)

    ..........

Have a nice day or afternoon or night "Black Wolf XCI" My Xbox One is running horribly... :)

Make sure you're not in the Preview Program, hard reset, check to see if your console has the latest Update (they come out pretty much one update every month). Reset your internet modem too. Ask your ISP if they can remotely check your internet connection.
Spark NZ and Vodafone NZ can remotely check your internet connection. Sometimes when your ISP does this they may detect issues. Which country do you live in? Maybe lots of people in your suburb use cable internet. If they do, that can affect your internet
speeds since it's "Cable" internet. If it fails, contact Xbox Support. Maybe your console's hardware is playing up. Xbox 1 has an EIGHT CORE processor aka AMD Jaguar 8 core APU, so the hardware should be able to multi-task easily. The more processing cores
a device has the more easier it should be at multi-tasking. Try resetting your console to manufacturer default settings (how it was like when you first got it).

You could also check Xbox Live Status on this site. Xbox Live services do go down here and there from time to time.
