My Xbox One is destroying my game discs and now it can't read them

Please read my reddit thread. That explains exactly what is going on with my console.

To sum it up,

• it wrecks the middle of discs, resulting in them to not spin properly
• it often gives me the classic "Insert Xbox disc or Blu-Ray disc" error
• I get a very short and subtle grind sound (not the clicking)
• most of the time the disc just sits in the tray and doesn't spin because it is broken.
  

Now, the reason I brought it over to the Xbox forums:

I got multiple results from people, including /u/xbox_support who told me to check out Xbox Online Services and others, saying that I could get my discs fixed for a fee of around $20 by the game's publishers. Well, no, I don't want to do
that, because I didn't break the discs - the console did.

And the reason I won't turn to Xbox Online Services is:

• Warranty is expired
• It costs $120 to repair this defective console (ultimately an extreme disc drive issue)

I'm posting this here just to know what I can do to fix my console. I really want to be able to play my games, but I can't, especially the biggest titles like Evolve and Advanced Warfare - simply because the middle of my discs are absolutely destroyed. Who
can I contact? Where can I go? Any help is appreciated, thanks a lot!

xbox one games do not read but other discs do

xbox one discs do not read on my console and produces a notice saying to clean my discs despite there beimng nothing wrong with them and some are brand new. the strange thing is that it is only xbox one discs. dvds and xbox 360 games do work. what do I have
to do to get my xbox one games working again?

 

Xbox One Won't Read Discs

My Xbox One has run into a rather aggravating issue that I can't fix, and can't find anything about online. It won't read my discs no matter what I do.

It can't be my optical drive. I uninstalled my Disc related games and installed them all again, it wouldn't be able to install if it can't read them.

Now, when I try to play any game that is on disc, the Xbox immediately crashes me back to the dashboard with no error code... Nothing. I have done the basics such as flushing the RAM with a cold restart and such, but to no avail. Why is my Xbox One being
such a **** and limiting itself to playing Digitally installed games only?!

 

Sorry but your only option is to send it in to Microsoft to get it repaired,there is no other way to get it fixed.

As for the games,it's down to the games publishers if they would replace your games but I highly doubt it.

 

I'm all for sending it out, the thing is I just don't want to have to pay for what I didn't do.

Kind of totally just got *** over by Microsoft here. I guess I'm going to stick with my Xbox 360 which has been perfect and fully functional since 2005...

 

Same problem im having. We really should not have to pay for something that is clearly the manufacturer's fault.

 

But all new xbox hardware is covered by a three year warranty isn't it? So no matter when you bought the xbox it should still be under warranty. Hell the controllers that came with my launch day one edition were still warranted a few months back so surely
your complete unit still is?
