    Does anybody have a massive amount of problems with their Xbox One?

    When I first got the Xbox, I had the usual 'new generation' issues, freezing here and there, connection dropping or spotty party chats, etc; however, that was all fixed within a couple patches. Not so bad and for the most part I was expecting to have some
    issues at first. Recently, in the last 6 months or so (roughly around the same time my warranty expired, go figure) it has been giving me MAJOR issues.

    I'll be watching Netflix, and within 25-30 minutes it will boot me from my network, the only two solutions I've found are trying to reconnect through the dashboard, or hard restarting the Xbox One. I've had my ISP out to route the cable lines more efficiently,
    and make sure I'm getting the best connection possible, and I've replaced my router, every other device in my house maintains a steady connection.

    At times, the Xbox REFUSES to read any discs, I'll put the game in, and "Do you own this game?" will pop up, I've had it happen with older games like Master Chief Collection, and even my copy of Fallout 4 (RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX). Once this starts to happen,
    the game will no longer eject, the power button doesn't respond, and I have to pull the plug from behind the Xbox, wait for the power light to dim out and then plug it back in.

    Randomly when I get hit with the "your batteries are low" message, my controller will un-sync from the Xbox One, changing the batteries doesn't solve it, neither does pressing the sync button on the top of the controller and side of the Xbox, nor USB, I
    have to yet again, hard restart my Xbox.

    This is moreso accessories, but I've been through many of the stock headsets, I believe I'm on my 5th or 6th now. I don't wrap the cords up, I make sure they're off the floor, and only plugged in when I'm using them, but every 3 months sure enough either
    the speaker goes out, or the microphone goes out. I've found a tedious solution to this - Use iPhone headphones plugged into my Laptop on the Xbox app and just join parties like that. It's annoying to have to do but I'm wasting money at this point.

    Lastly, I was advised by a Microsoft rep to "delete my local game data", which I had done before, not a big deal, it usually will redownload within 10 minutes or so, except this time for all my games it stays at the "syncing data for ________" and just loops,
    no percentage sign, nothing. I've been waiting roughly 45 minutes now and It's just a nuisance.

    Does anybody else have this many problems? Did I get a lemon or should I just get a PS4 at this point?

    Ive done the same thing. My children use my xbox account and it is a nightmare with xbox one

    My XBOX ONE Nightmare

    I bought an xbox one bundle from Costco online last Monday. It started up to download an update and never turned back on. They sent me another console without any cables, even though they instructed me it would be a complete new setup. The new console wouldn't
    boot up either. I've tried power cyclying the power brick etc with an xbox hardware tech over the phone who then told me who was making a ticket for the specialists to handle my situation because they "dropped the ball". I called back 24 hours later to make
    sure action was being taken when they instructed me there is no open ticket. They then told me that I need to send the old power cable back before they can send me a new one and reminded me that I will be charged for the second console if it isn't returned
    in 15 days. They offered me 3 months of xbox live...like I even want an xbox one at this point.

    Sounds to me like you are the unluckiest guy on the planet or have poor internet and don't take good care of your stuff.

  5. No need to be a smart ***, it's not that hard to maintain an Xbox, just keep it properly ventilated and dust-free, which it is. My controllers don't get dropped or abused, my headset doesn't get twisted or left on the floor, and I've got the quickest plan
    available with my ISP.

  6. I would trade it in for in store credit at GS and get another console.

    They are cheaper now than what they once were, and it's better to lose a few bucks than to have to deal with those issues.

    Just make sure to reset everything before taking it to GS.

    Finally had to replace my headset this week (Almost the two year mark!); guess letting it hang and spin to get the kinks out was not a good idea.

    The quickest plan your I.S.P. offers is cryptic...know a few people out in the sticks that get less than 1Mbs with "Radio" internet, plus a few with satellite; were speeds vary more than a yo-yo and ping can go over 1500ms. In either case that would take
    away from the "X Box Experience".

    And to the question,"Does anybody else have this many problems?"; No, I do not have the problems you mentioned with either of my X Box One consoles.

  10. To clear things up, I'm 100% sure it is not my connection. I'm not from a small buufoo town where ISP's are scarce or connectivity is an issue, I'm from Chicago and my connection averages between 38-44mbps, my inlaw's have an Xbox One and their connection
    only ranges from 9-14mpbs and they don't have half the issues I have. The xbox stays directly plugged into the router to avoid any wifi signal strength issues through the walls.

    It sounds to me like the Xbox One console that you got is from the " defective " batch. Hopefully you can get a replacement (via warranty) and I hope that it fixes your problems.

    I'm not being a smartass.

    If I was being a smartass I'd have a moan that I have a bunch of problems with my XBox ONE that no one else has but even though I'm the only one it can't be 'my fault' and then finish it off with "should I just get a PS 4 at this point"?

    Probability is an exact science. That's why casinos exist.

    In all probability if you can't manage to run an XBox ONE chances are you'll knack your PS 4 also.

    At this point I'd agree with Electro.

    As for PS4....dunno, does it have games you want to play? Do you like the controller? Have you got friends that use one? Only you can answer these kind of questions.

    what gets me is the amount of headsets he has been through, i still use my day one set and they work fine, and i wrap the cable up.

    MS own headsets have always been cheap. My lad was getting through them every month, I know he looks after his things and doesn't abuse them. I treated him to a mid range pair of turtle beaches for his birthday last year, they are still going strong with
    no issues.

    Back on the 360 I went through multiple ms headsets. I only really used them at the weekends and put them away nicely when I'd finished, the mics went on all of them and never had a pair last over 6 months. In the end I bought a different brand but still
    a cheapo set, they lasted me for the last year until I got the X1.

    I don't blame ms for only making cheap headsets to bundle with there consoles, they are only a bonus imo. I mean, the price of a topnotch set is almost as much as a console anyway.
