My xbox one headset wont let me talk but can hear other people please help me with this problem

My mic is picking up regular sounds like the game play but it wont let me talk or hear other people what could be the problem?

im having a problem that i can talk through the headset and my friends can hear me but when they talk i cant hear them please help

Wired headset and ive tried with other headsets

tried with another controller

can hear my friends in party

Its weird because my headset allows me to hear myself while talking, and i can hear myself but people cant hear me

The other day I was talking to some buddies and out of no where they couldn't hear me talk. But I could hear them. Ive tried everything that I could think of and it still doesnt let me talk and no its not muted or anything. Please help me. Ive only had the
Xbox and the headset since the beginning of September. I believe that it cant be broken because I can hear them.

This happens to my mic sometimes where i can hear the other person but it wont let me talk. What has been working for me is unplugging the xbox and turning it back on.
