I search the existing posts and could find anything that helped me.

My xbox one has a code 80070490 screen that refuses to close. This of course doesn't allow me then to get access to the menu to delete anything to make more space. I know I have older games that can be removed. However, if I can't get to them I can remove
them.

Is there any way to get past this error page and access the menu?

Is there a way to reset the xbox and just start over?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, unfortunately that didn't work. Still won't close the error screen.

A hard reset on the xbox will fix this issue just hold down the power button on the xbox until it shuts off give it a minute or two before u turn it back on and that should fix the problem

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Hi there SpinyCrescent,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand there is an issue with the console getting a black screen. I recommend to
try Soft Factory Reset(while
keeping games and apps)of the console since the problem that is causing this could be in the operating system.
Before resetting your console make sure of the following:

There is a stable network connection.

The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Since the console is not responding properly by providing the different menus. We are going to approach this differently.

Try this:

Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

Press and hold the
BINDbutton (located below the Xbox button on the console) and the
EJECTbutton (located on the front of the console), and then press the
Xboxbutton on the console.

Continue holding the
BINDand
EJECTbuttons for 10-15 seconds.

Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the
BINDand
EJECTbuttons after the second power-up tone.

The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

Select Reset this Xbox

Select Reset this Xbox and Keep Games and Apps

Give it a shot and let us know the results.
