My Xbox One harddrive is noisy when im in the dashboard.

Mine is doing the same thing. Just got it a couple of days ago so I wasn't sure if it was normal. Xbox support lady told me to just return it to the store as it is not normal. I too got the kincect-less SKU. Now I am wondering if I should just take it back
for good until the problem is fixed. I'm afraid if I exchange it, it will just have the same problem after the update.

I should add that I have no idea of it was clicking before the update. I just know that it is constantly making clicking noises while on the Dashboard and non-game apps like Netflix. As soon as I fire up a game, the noise stops. This is so defeating.

 

I just can't think for the life of me how updating the console would cause hardware components to all of a sudden start making the same noise on two different consoles. I'm not saying that's not the issue, but it's sounding like it's something more environmental
than hardware related. A good way to clear that up as a suspect would be to try and set the system up on another TV, preferably in a completely different place, i.e. a friend or families home. Make sure you have it sitting horizontal on a solid surface (that
preferably isn't glass, and remember my tip about the power source above.

Let me know how it goes or if you've already tried this.

 

Is there anyway to remove the update that may have caused this and try again? Or will it just leave the same result. It seems as though taking it back and exchanging won't help.
