My Xbox One harddrive is noisy when im in the dashboard.

My Xbox One harddrive is noisy when im in the dashboard. The sound goes away when I launch a game or an app. Why is that?

Xbox slim suddenly gone noisy

HI, My xbox has been working fine.I've had it for about one year. Always sitting flat (not standing)

Never had a problem. Today it has suddenly became very noisy. I've taken my harddrive out and the disc. The noise is still there.

Any ideas?

Power supply is louder than console (in standby mode)

Can you check if yours xbox one's power supply is as much noisy as the one from this clip:



It is not my clip but my power supply is just the same noisy as this one.

Is this normal?

When my console is in standby mode all I can hear is the power brick.

it seems alot of kinnectless models do this once you do the day one update. My cousin had to off the trott and his mate too.

Im not sure of the problem but its not the hdd its coming from the GPU while in low power mode.

Don't think there is any clear answer from support on this.

 

This better be solved with a software update.

 

What did they do with their consoles?

 

my cousin sent his back until he knows issue is solved, he has a day one release but wanted another for his bedroom to play on when he is up a little late.

 

If it's a low power issue causing the vibration then make sure you have it plugged in to a correct outlet. The system doesn't do well when plugged into a power strip, surge protector, or an extension cord. Make sure you have it plugged in directly into
an outlet, have the system lying flat and horizontal, and that it's in a well ventilated area.

 

bigbenx88 defo worth a try for others having similar problem but I tried that with my cousins as I was there when he purchased them.

Its strange only happens when new update is downloaded and is about 10% processed the the sound hits.

Its definitely some sort of issue with power as I had the exact same noise with a PC and I build my own and the problem was with the power my new power supply unit was causing issues which give this high pitch noise or buzz, a little like a fan that.s baring
is going or a resister that is about to pop.

To be quite honest its a little hard to pinpoint on the xbox as I cant open it up but i know its not the HDD and its coming from the GPU area.

 

I tried every suggestion, nothing worked. Guess I have to ship it back. It`s so damn noisy, even when the console is "off".

 

yea if you keep it in standby mode for auto updates it will.

do you have the newest update 1407 ?

 

After reading about this issue many places, it looks like it doesnt help replacing it. The buzz noise will come back after installing the update.

 

I returned my consoles, got a new one, and the noise starts again at 10% when installing the update. Jesus..
