My Xbox one games won’t install.

like for some reason, I can’t play Xbox one game discs cuss they won’t install. I can only install and play Xbox 360 game discs and games that have been installed from the store.

As I have checked, there is no issue with a game installation, only for a specific game which is For Honor.

You seem to have performed all the necessary steps as well, sorry, I just want to clarify, have you tried to use your Xbox App on your phone in installing the games?

Indeed which is odd. Also, an external hard drive is not required, even if you don't have an external hard drive it should work.

Also, try installing these games offline.

"Take your console offline, cancel the download, and then power cycle the console. After you successfully install the game, go online and let the update download.

Step 3: Eject the game disc and power cycle the console

1. Eject the game disc.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button to open the Power Center.

3. Select Restart console.

4. Select Restart.

Step 4: Install the game

After the console restarts, insert the disc. Follow the steps to install the game.

Step 5: Go online and let the game update install

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Since the games that you're having an issue are disc games, we may need to try installing these games digitally.

1. Cancel the installation and remove the disc.

2. Perform a powercycle on your console.

B. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

3. Launch Xbox app on your phone and search for the game.

4. Click the game and choose "Download to Console"

5. Wait for the game to install completely before inserting the disc to play it.

Don't listen to these guys go to reddit you'll get farther. That being said. This has been an ongoing problem scince 2017. It's the store and Microsoft's campaign to kill the used game market. They don't want us buying and selling our own games from each other or Game stores. They want us to buy them from the digital store.

I got mine to download digitally by selecting the game before cancelling the installation when the disc starts installing. Go to the Microsoft store either from the Game Card or the Manage Game and Add Ons options. Now add the game to your wishlist. Cancel the install and reset the xbox by just holding the power button for 10 seconds. Make sure you leave the play disc for the game in the disk drive.

After it reboots go to the store and push left on the joystick to get to the store menu. Scroll down to the LISTS option which is your wishlist and the recently viewed list. The game should be on both lists. Select your game to get to its store page and there should be an option to install the game. It will install the entire game over the internet so it will take a while depending on your internet speed.
