  1. My Xbox One factory reset on it's own

I left my console on today and went to do something when I returned I found that I had to put all the information back in like I had just bought it. I had to log back in and also download my games I am still waiting for the first game to load so I don't
know if I lost all my progress as of yet. I have done some research in the past the "Alpha" program was causing this to happen but I am not a part of this program and I have not had an update since a month prior. Has anyone had issues with this as I have?

    :)

My Xbox One factory reset on it's own

    Hi NUCL3AR M3T3OR,

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this question. Sorry to hear that your console factory reset itself mysteriously. If you aren't a part of the Xbox Insiders Preview Program (and your console isn't as well), then this may be a 'one off' occurrence.
Although, sometimes if there is something wrong going on in the OS or something is corrupt, the console will automatically reset itself out of the blue, which has actually happened to a friend of mine before. No worries though concerning your game progress
as that would have been saved to your profile in the Cloud if you were connected to the internet and not offline.

I do know that the Alpha Preview ring had an update go out yesterday, so if you aren't sure that you've been (or your console) unenrolled then you can do so via the Insiders App. April
    3rd New Preview Alpha 1904 Update (1904.190402-1745)

The direct instructions on how to leave the program are detailed in our Xbox Insider Program FAQ just in case you need them. I'd also recommend
reporting this via the Insider Hub app anyhow, especially if you've already unenrolled, as that kind of feedback is super important and may also help out other individuals.

I hope that this helps out!

    Hey there NUCL3AR M3T3OR,

Thanks for the reply! It's nice to know that the information was of help and that you're on your way to getting everything going again. Since you're installing everything again, I'll be locking the thread at this time, but please do feel free to create a
new thread if you have any other issues pop up or just have a question in general.

Thanks again for coming to the forums and have a great day!

For a detailed guide, please use this link: https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/reset-console-to-factory-defaults

It's a two-step process using a computer and your console, I highly recommend you use the above link for a better reading experience.

If you prefer a step-by-step guide here, please, follow these steps:

    ------------------------------------------------
    First Step (On the Computer):
    ------------------------------------------------

Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.

Select the following link to download the reset file to your computer: https://www.xbox.com/xboxone/restorefactorydefaults

Select Save to save the console update.zip file to your computer (if it doesn't download automatically).

To unzip the compressed file, right-click on the file and then select Extract all from the pop-up menu.

Copy the $SystemUpdate file from the .zip file to your USB flash drive

    ---------------------------------------------------
    Second Step (On your console):
    ---------------------------------------------------

Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.

Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your console. For more information, see:

Press and hold the Pair button (Xbox Series X|S: located on the front next to the USB port) and the Eject button (Xbox Series X: located just above the disk drive slot), and then press the Xbox button on the console.

Note The Xbox Series S and the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition do not have an Eject button. On this console, you only need to hold the Pair button and then press the Xbox button.

Continue holding the Pair button and Eject button for 10-15 seconds.

Listen for two "power-up" tones a couple of seconds apart.

You can release the Pair button and Eject button after the second power-up tone.

When the console restarts, remove the flash drive.

Once the console restarts, you should see the digital setup experience to guide you through resetting your console.

Let me know if it works!
