My Xbox One Elite blew up, literally. Sparked and caught on fire!!

My xbox one had a fire inside through the fan vent, sparks and smoke billowing out and microsoft doesn't want to help me. They want me to pay for a new xbox. This is obviously and motherboard defect, but they insist it isn't. Anyone else have any similar
issues? Please post and let me know.

I had the scorpion on exile last night and it was on fire and just one plasma grenade from being blown up, but I was doing my best to keep away from the enemy and I was racking up the long range kills with it when one of my idiot teammates stuck me with
a plasma grenade and blew it up

 

My controller caught fire.

Bringing up a 2 year old thread will not help. You have already posted this, and been given the correct answer.

 

If your Xbox wasn't under warranty that's what you do. Buy a new one or get it fixed. Ranting on a forum won't get you a new Xbox.

With that said, My 2 Day 28 Xbox Ones are still working fine. I'm guessing they didn't have that "obvious motherboard defect".

Just one more thing... I'm not sure there are more than 10 people who even come to these forums. I suggest going to reddit or twitter to enlighten everyone. That's were MS people actually hang out.

 

I've experenced sparks shooting out of a xbox repair center replacement Origional Xbox console , (not a 360 or xbox one) so yes. Such things can happen.

What to do about it? Back in the early to mid two thousands what I did was simply let it go... If I had any sense about me back then I would have boxed it up and put it in a reperable attornies hands... Um... For safe keeping.

 

well mine fell out of warranty about 6 weeks ago took one insider update to wreck my hard drive. they did offer me a 20 dollar discount but the price for repairs are to high so it will go to the trash.

 

My friend tried to kill himself by dropping a plugged in Xbox into a bathtub.

When it didn't work he tried to get a new Xbox from Microsoft because of it smashing to bits into a unfilled tub.

Ok, here is what you do.

If the Xbox is still under warranty, then get back onto Microsoft and demand and repair.

If it isn't under warranty, then suck it up, stop complaining and expecting the world to fall at your knees and either buy a new console, pay for a repair or buy a competitors console.

 

Are you the original owner of that console and did you buy it new from an authorized retailer? Do you use your console properly (eg. enough ventilation, healthy power connections, no misuse)? Microsoft is obligated by law to provide their electronic products
which must meet safety regulations. There ARE laws regarding this, regardless if the console is under warranty or not! And Microsoft is not government. They are not above the law. Do you use power surge protectors?

 

My Xbox One is fine but my buddies Xbox One S caught on fire, but when he contacted Microsoft they gave him a new one no questions asked..
