My Xbox one disc game won't install.

I recently received a used copy of overwatch from my friend. I have already had overwatch installed because of the free weekend. But however, once I put the disc in and loaded the game, it said "do you own this game or app?" I ejected the disc and put it
back in several times, so I assumed it was a problem with the fact that I installed it digitally and this was a physical copy. So I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it. But once I put the disc in, nothing happened. I tried cleaning the disc, tilting the
Xbox 45 degrees, and resetting factory settings, but. None of this worked, any ideas?

Fallout new Vegas ultimate won't install

today June 11th 2017 I bought the Xbox one fallout new Vegas ultimate edition and after I insert the disc it says this game can't be installed. Help I've inserted disc one and disc two and it won't let me install..the icon says install disc but won't let
me install

Free game codes for people who can play there games

I have been not able to install my disc version of master chief collection and it be nice if Xbox would give there fans a free code download to get the digital game if they can't install the disc but I know Xbox won't help there fans one bit

Sorry to hear it. This sounds like a disc drive issue. Although it is possible to force the console to read the disc by holding the disc for a couple of seconds once the drive grabs it, this is not recommended as it could scratch the disc.

They are all disc versions. So, when I put in the disc, it says "queued." It won't boot the game up. And these are games I have previously installed to my xbox one. Any suggestions?

Xbox one console sucks. Won't install games from discs. Installation stops half-way through the process.

Installing a game off a disc (either on the Xbox One or 360) simply means that the game files are installed to run off the system's hard drive instead of running directly off the disc (which is required for One games.) The disc acts as a license, and thus
if you try to play the game without the disc you won't be able to play the game.

If you installed the game from an Xbox One game disc, you won't have to install it again when you claim it through Games With Gold. After installation from disc, the disc simply serves as the proof of purchase for the game. You can safely give the game
disc to a friend and you won't have to redownload the game just because you get it digitally.

However, keep this in mind. With Xbox One Games With Gold titles, if you decide to drop Gold, you won't be able to play the game. I think it's great you want to let your friend have your game, but I do want to make sure you know everything involved, too.

Without being pedantic, technically speaking there is no such thing as a 'digital version' of an Xbox One game. Both the disc and the digital versions are the same. What you buy is a digital license. Of course, once you have the license you won't need
the disc.

If you borrowed your friends game on disc, installed it, then decided you also wanted this game, you just buy it from the Xbox Store. As you've already installed the game from disc you won't need to download anything, other than any updates as normal.

The Xbox 360 had separate digital and disc based games, the Xbox One does not.
