My xbox one dashboard went black, no wallpaper.

So after i try to connect my xbox 360 through one drive by plugging in the hdmi in pirt, and add an account to my xbox and evrything seem to went black, evrything still work well. It felt like the system went back to basic mode, no more color and no background
image. But i just got error: 0x87de0017 Trouble connecting to xbox. Help feel like my xbox is dying

Xbox Custom themes

I should clarify that my previous post was in reference to being able to set the dashboard background/wallpaper from images on a usb, not an actual "theme" which would change more than just the wallpaper.

 

I've had a similar issue, except i'm trying to start up my xbox one and after the green loading screen everything just goes black and I can't do anything

Yea my xbox just does the green screen then black too somene gotta get on this. I hope this isnt cuz if a preview update.

 

I read whilst trying to fix the problem I have that you need to switch off high contrast mode in your settings. Give it a try.

 

I'm not sure if this is what you are experiencing, but it may help. When using the energy-saving power mode and instant sign-in, after the Xbox One boots and you are signed in, the background is black and none of the screens have content (except for Home,
but there is nothing on the right side). If you sign-out, the missing content suddenly appears. Sign-in again and everything is normal.
