Exact same issue, none of the suggested steps work. Mine is the AC bundle as well. Also dont know if anyone else has this issue, cant find it on the forums. But my surround sound plays in stereo (hear music but no dialogue) until I unplug the HDMI and plug
it back in. This is not my speaker problem nor the cable. Both work perfectly fine on my 360. Only with X1.

Have had the exact same issue since the beginning of November, (maybe after the November update). Every 1-2 days my controller will not turn my Xbox One on anymore, and I have tried every solution. The location of my xbox has not changed in a year. It's
not the batteries or my controller. It's not my surge protector because I recently plugged the Xbox straight into the wall to see if that was the problem and the problem has returned. I don't know if I should even send it in for repairs because apparently
the same generic solution keeps getting posted so obviously theres no clear cause or fix for the problem.

I find it entertaining that most of the suggested answers to the Xbox One problems are just a power cycle.. it seems to me that this console has a lot of kinks that should have been worked out before release. Which, in my opinion, is ridiculous seeing how
there was such a gigantic gap between the 360 and One console generations.

Wow I to have a week old X1 and this is also happening with me. I recall way back when I bought a day 1 X1 it to wouldn't turn on the console. Also (as is happening now) on occasion I'd need to re-sync the controller with the console itself. Maybe less ads
on the Home screen and more work being spent getting the fundamentals right MS.

I'm having the same issue. Instant on and controller fails to power on the Xbox. Happens after a I've been out of for the weekend. Fairly consistent behavior. Happens all the time. Only pressing the power button on the box works. Then it's fine until I leave
    it alone for 2-3 days.

I have a brand new console, this issue has been happening since day one. Microsoft put out a turd of a product, slapped a premium price on it and hoped that brand loyalty would do the rest. I bought a PS4 after owning a 360 since 08, and to this day I
haven't regretted it. Played Call of Duty Ghosts for a year on PS4, and picked up a copy on Xbox One for comparison's sake a week ago. After multiple party chat failures on Xbox One and being booted from games halfway through 4 or 5 times in a row, I switched
back to PS4 because of the frustration. I think I am more angry about this purchase than my Retron 5 purchase (which I returned after 3 days of ownership). At least I only paid $100 for that piece of crap, and it gave me about the same level of trouble.

  9. Having the same problems and then the controllers won't stay on and sync so i have to unplug the system and plug it back in, in order for it to work correctly.. I'm very disappointed. I have always had Sony products and never had a problem.. Seems like
everyone is having problems with Microsoft

THis also happens to me. Power setting is instant on. Controller is wired usb cable. Unplugging back power cord is only fix and is temporary.

Normally I dont post, but this also has been happening to me since day 1.... Well, day 2, since my first Xbox One had the green screen of death and had to be returned to Microsoft. Anyway, now it has been 7 months since the first posting of this issue, and
obviously no one at Microsoft really cares since the problem has not been resolved. I wish I would have never bought this unit. The time it takes to load a game from a disk is unacceptable, and the amount of drive space necessary for some games is crazy. I
bought the AC non kinect...and 4 games have used more than half of my hard drive. Sorry, but I feel this is an epic fail. All I want is to be able to turn on my controller without having to get up and push a button on the main console. I dont think that is
too much to ask for! What is the hold up here? I should have stayed with my XBox 360 for sure.

  12. Well, I've been having this problem for some time now too.

I've posted it as an idea on the Feedback site, perhaps someone might take notice of it there (after all it would be an improvement).

If you want it fixed, perhaps you might want to vote for the idea: Xbox Ideas, powered by UserVoice (or
search Controller to turn on Xbox).

Well, since my post on 17 Jan 2015, my Feedback received a response from their admins. Below is the communication that has passed back and forth:

    Hey there ~

Our phone or chat support teams may be able to assist you with getting your controller to work properly. They will also be the proper channel to report this issue.

    @Mister Retr0

I presume you have read the forum post that I linked to in the suggestion I posted? (http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/xbox_one_support/f/4269/t/1765507.aspx)

If so, hopefully you'll have noticed that numerous people have contacted support and no one at Support is doing anything. So, either there are lots of faulty Xboxs or controllers out in the wild, or there is a fundamental problem.

So, if this is a support issue, why is no one in Support doing anything to fix this? Clearly something is broken.

If you want to stand by your words, in that you listen to the people (which this Feedback site is all about) then perhaps you'll do something to fix the issue.

Directing me to a support forum where the issue is posted, and clearly documented is NOT listening to your customers, in fact it shows that you didn't even bother to read my suggestion and the link within.

    Hi ~

I hear what you're saying, but the reality is that the forums teams do an excellent job of surfacing issues like this. You may have seen Major Nelson's post about a firmware update going out to preview members which addresses some bugs. Updates like that
are a direct result of people making their voices heard through our support channels.

Support based questions, bugs, and other issues that need fixing do get addressed through the support forums (and twitter, phone, and chat). That's not the goal of feedback.xbox.com. Our main purpose is to get new feature ideas and improvements to existing
features directly from you guys into the many engineering and development teams here at Microsoft.

In other words, if your goal is to let us know about a problem that lots of people are experiencing, the support forums is the best, fastest way to let the right people know about those issues. The team at feedback.xbox.com do not have a dedicated pipeline
with the support teams, but we have excellent communication with the teams that work on building new features, so that's what you should be posting about here.

I hope that helps you understand a little better the purpose of feedback.xbox.com and why we point people to the support forums.

So there you have it, these forums are doing a "fantastic" job of addressing your issue. I often though fantastic jobs took over seven months. I always thought fantastic jobs resulted in no final resolution. The post by Major Nelson does
not mention anything about solving the problem discussed here, only speeding up the comms between the controller and console. Nothing about no communication between the two.

I made the mistake of applying for the preview program, where you get beta builds of updates before the public. Went to install the controller update and it stopped at 66%. Now the xbox thinks my controller is fully updated and will only work when plugged
in. Won't sync at all now. THANKS MICROSOFT.

I have had this issue with my X1 console since day one when I got it in November. I was hoping Feb's update would resolve the issue but it hasn't. Something odd is going on with the power supply I think. As the console will have issues powering on sometimes
even with the button on the console. However once I do get the console to turn on, all the other functionality works as expected. I can turn off and on with the controller and with the the "Xbox On" kinect voice control. However after a day or so off all this
    breaks again.

I have tried the X1 plugged into a cheep surge protector, tried an APC PC backup battery/surge protector, even bought a Panamax MR4300 protector and finally tried directly into the wall. I even reset the console to factory default hoping that would shake
    out the gremlins. No luck.
