My xbox one controller wont connect to my pc

Hi. My Xbox one controller just stopped working on my laptop after I was using it for a month straight with no imperfections. I have windows 10, so I shouldn't have to install the drivers, but i did anyway to try to fix it, but it did not work. The controller
LED just flashes 16 times and then shuts off. I just want to play games on my laptop without a mouse, someone please help.

Xbox one controller for PC

So I've been trying to connect my Xbox one controller to my PC but my computer wont recognize the controller. I have downloaded the correct drivers but it isn't being recognized.

my windows 10 pc ignores my xbox one controller

my Xbox Controller wont Connect with the pc even tho i get vibration and light on the Controller but it kinda ignores the Controller

I'm sorry to hear you're having the same issues I am! (Though mine is Windows 7) and i contacted xbox support, who then directed me to microsoft support, who then said because it's most likely a driver issue I would have to pay to get help with the issue.
Then, when asking if there was any link to self troubleshoot the guy on chat linked me to an outdated article and then hung up on me. I doubt microsoft/xbox even cares at this point -_-

(After doing some experimenting the only thing i found (on windows 7 so I HOPE this would work for you too) is to click the thing that says "stop looking for drivers via windows update" when it's looking for the controller's drivers during the first run.
For some reason it will find your self installed driver really quickly after that. Good luck!)

Hello,

When you say Xbox controller, you mean an XBox one? it seems to me that the first version of the XBox One controller does require an adapter to be able to connect to your PC. The newest version of the XBox One controller does support Bluetooth communication
and hence it can be paired to a PC.

its an xbox one controller and i cant do bluetooth because my pc wont allow it

My elite series two controller's middle white button wont shut off and It wont connect to my PC or xbox, I've tried to connect both wireless and plugging in my USB to both Xbox and PC. My controller does not show up on my xbox accessories even though the
white light is still on. I was mid game and none of my buttons worked i could only move forward and backwards and I could not press the xbox button to go to my home screen and ever since than my controller has not worked I've tried reseting my xbox, unplugging
it, searching solutions on the internet and nothing has worked. Any idea what is going on?
