My xbox one controller refuses to connect

I can't seem to get my controller to connect after I changed the batteries. I've restarted the console, held down the connect button on both the controller and the console. Now I'm stuck using a 2ft cable to get the controller working, and I'm suppose to
able disconnect the cable after a few seconds, but that ain't working either.

Xbox One wireless adapter has stopped working properly since Windows update

Ever since I got an update on January 23rd, the adapter refuses to stay connected to my Xbox One controller. If I restart my computer and connect my controller, it works fine, but if I wait a few hours, it will connect and disconnect and never keep a connection.

I've completely uninstalled my drivers, unplugged the adapter, restarted my computer, plugged in the adapter, and had the drivers reinstall, but it still doesn't function properly.

Please help.

Xbox One S Controller Issues

Hey guys,

Recently bought an Xbox One S about 3 months back and at the time my controller wouldn't connect or would connect occasionally but then not function. I worked around this by buying a plug in cable and thought no big deal. But now my cable has stopped working
and I'm left with my controller again. I've tried all of the troubleshooting options to get it working again but nothing has helped. When I try to sync my controller (it disconnects on its own) it won't connect to my Xbox. And when it does connect it's not
to my Xbox itself but to something else? For example the controller will stay lit whilst my Xbox is off. If it's not connecting to something different it's just continuously flashing and refuses to connect to my Xbox, has anyone run into this too or have any
suggestions that could help?

Hey dude,

That is very strange. Plugging it in should force it to connect :/

Something simple to try, which may just solve the problem. Turn the controller off, and remove the batteries. Then we'll give the console a hard boot. Which you can do by having the console on and on the dashboard, then holding down the power button for
10seconds until the console switches off. Leave it for a minute, then turn it back on. Once its on, put the batteries back in, then try and sync it.

If that still doesn't work, then perhaps your controller needs an update. Rather then me explain how to do to that, I'll give you a link which contains all the info:

Have a scroll through the rest of that page linked above too, as there are a few more tips in there worth trying

Not sure if this is relevant, but my Xbox also sometimes doesn't connect wirelessly to my controllers and I have to hard reset. Occasionally if I connect via cord, it gets done and I can detach the cord and it stays connected. But more often than not, even
after getting positive feedback from the controller on a wired connection, the Xbox still won't recognize the equipment and refuses to connect. Repairing obviously doesn't work here either.

If the Xbox is using the same tech to connect to the wifi and the controllers, could this also be a problem?

this may seem weird, but can you try with a different controller?

sometimes one of my controllers refuses to let me sign in or access the Xbox menus yet my other controller has no issues.

How are you, mate?

Press and hold your Xbox power button until the console turns off, remove the power cord for a few minutes.

Turn off your controller and remove the batteries and wait a few minutes.

After about 3 minutes, put the batteries back in your controller, plug the power cord into your console and turn on the console with your controller and see if it works.

If the problem persists reset the console to factory defaults, you won't lose anything but you will need to log in with your account again. Email and password are required.

Follow this path and select reset keeping games and app.

In 5 to 10 minutes you will finish reconfiguring your console

To reset the console>

Settings> System> Console Info> Reset Console

Hello, I've attempted to reset the headset numerous times, and even after the reset the headset refuses to connect to anything other than my Xbox and one other device, if it can't connect to my Xbox then it will only connect to one device.
