My Xbox One console is making slight ticking noises? (HDD?)

I can't hear any actual clicking in the video since the fan is too loud. However clicking in the harddrive usually means that the drive is starting to fail
(So nice that they warn you about it right ?). If you believe it's the harddrive making the noise then I would suggest moving all your data to an external harddrive
(given it's empty and you don't need it for anything else but your Xbox) and shipping your console for repair while it's still under warranty.

How much does the clicking occur ?

That really quiet ticking noise that you can't hear unless you stick your ear on the console? That's not the HDD. HDDs don't make a ticking noise like that.

My issue is that the fan ticks. The console is set up in a bedroom. When everything is turned off (or on standby), I hear this fast "tick, tick, tick" from the Xbox One PSU. I specifically built my PC to be as close to silent as I could make it, so I can
even hear the Xbox One PSU ticking over the sound of my PC when that's turned on. I'm not saying that the noise is "loud", because it's not. But any noise that can clearly and constantly be heard when a product is supposedly turned off is not good, especially
an annoying ticking sound.

The first unit I had to send back due to some other HW issues, was dead silent. Now, my 2nd piece has noticeable sound of hdd activity. It reminds me of fragmented hdd in my desktop pc. it should have been totally quiet, but there is hdd noise coming from
console, noticeable from about 7feets. It's like hdd is active even at moments when I am sitting at dashboard with no activity....

I checked with MS Support, and they told me to replace it as the console should be totally silent. By experience with my first piece I think there should be no hdd noise.

I haven't had a chance to spend some time on games since Nov 22nd!!! I am in replacement mode for all the time. So, I am still thinking about keeping the console and replace the disk with SSD after 2 years warranty is gone.... But just for the sake of it,
I want to keep sending the consoles back to MS till I get proper piece.

That's it ive had it, its gone from only being able to hear it by having my ear next to console, to sitting far back. seems to have got louder and more high pitched, but still only at the dashboard.

Im either going to sell it (ebays are going for over £500) or sell it to CEX as they offer £485 cash. ill just wait till the next batch and hopefuly they sound better than the day 1 consoles. Or even see how good PS4 is doing (after all im only interested
in gaming non of this Kinect (in my box room) I don't watch TV on it, I won't be watching Blu rays, I won't be listening to music.
