My Xbox makes a strange sound

Hi every one,

So I’ve had my Xbox for nearly 2 years it’s the series x but lately it had adapted to making a strange noise usually form start up and when it is shut down some times even when it is idle and sitting on the dashboard the ports are clean and dust free but I can explain what the noise is should I send it to be repaired?

Well that is an odd sound. I'd say that may have something to do with the fan being loose. If you bought the extended warranty I'd say send it in and get it repaired while you can.

I have the same problem, but mine got louder and now it can't read discs period.

Hi,

Here's a couple options. You can choose to return the console to the retailer you purchased it from. They may take it back and replace it for you. If you have purchased an extended warranty, you can return it to the retailer with more confidence as they
will have to replace it.

Another option is to consider returning it to Microsoft as they recently announced in the news that they will be replacing noisy consoles as evidenced by this article -
