My XBOX Live Profile Captures Are Automatically Vanishing...

    Hello.

As stated in the title, some of my older (Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition) screenshots are automatically deleting from my XBOX Live profile. When I upload a new screenshot to my XBOX Live profile, another one of my older screenshots mysteriously vanishes
from my profile so you cannot view it.

Furthermore, I know screenshots vanish from you console after a certain amount of time, but these are uploaded to my actual profile. With that said, in case it helps, the screenshots that vanished are my first gaming captures from
one year ago. Total, I've only taken 119 screenshots, from various games, within a little over a year. I've seen people with thousands of screenshots on their profile from many years ago, which shows there's no limitation on how many screenshots you can take
and upload onto your profile. And there's no expiration date once uploaded onto your public XBOX Live profile. Luckily, I have the screenshots saved in my OneDrive account for backup, but I'd also like to have them remain on my XBOX Live profile. In my opinion,
the point of taking screenshots is to capture the moment and share them with your friends. Also, before one asks, I have XBOX Gold as well.

On that note, I've called customer support about this issue. Since they do not know how to resolve this issue, they referred me to the forums for my answer. While on the phone with customer service, we've tried troubleshooting, restarting the console, and
removing and re-adding my account on the console. Sadly, nothing seems to work.

Lastly, while looking on my XBOX Live profile, I can see the missing screenshots in the "Manage Captures" section—which can only be viewed by me. They show they're still uploaded onto my XBOX Live profile, even though they don't
appear on the actual profile. In the "Watch" section of the profile, where game captures are kept publicly, the screenshots are missing—preventing other people from viewing the captures and the descriptions. Once again, as I upload new screenshots my older
captures vanish from public viewing/my profile. I'd love to have all of my screenshots, visible for others to see, on my XBOX Live profile. It's getting to be annoying, while taking the fun out of playing new games—due to the concern of losing my past captures. I
have no idea how to fix this issue?

I'd appreciate any help in resolving this issue. I thank you in advance.

    :)

    Everything is disappearing!

Within the past week, more things are vanishing from my account. My Live Gold tenure is gone (number of years), all my game clips and screenshots have vanished (my profile and Upload studio are completely empty, which also cleared my Showcase). All these
things are gone from both the console and from checking my profile on the Xbox website. Now my Smartlgass App on my iPhone won't connect to my Xbox, even after deleting and re-installing.

    Xbox Live hard to cancel

I got a deal when I set up my new profile on a 3 month subscription to Xbox Live. I paid $9.99 for 3 months. Then I forgot to cancel it and they automatically charged my card. I just figured out how to remove the automatic renewal but I have a charge pending for another 3 months. It is so hard to cancel a subscription.

Is there any easy way to save captures from the Xbox console?

    Hi Jacob!

May I confirm if your clips and captures are saved on your internal storage or external storage?

Let's make sure that automatic upload is enabled.
Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system > Settings > Preferences > Capture & share > Automatically upload.

To upload a capture that wasn’t uploaded automatically, select the capture, and then select Upload.

Captures: EVERY capture is missing now from my less than a year old Xbox, except 4 recent screenshots I took a few days ago. Why?

Hi there! Have you checked that you’re not looking at only your captures store on Xbox Live instead of all your captures stored locally? Eventually you will run out of space on your Live profile for captures, at which point they stop uploading automatically,
but are still stored locally on your console.

Hit the guide button and hit right on the d-pad twice to get to “Capture and Share”. Then go down and select “Recent Captures” to open your Capture Management screen. From there the first box in the top left hand corner should allow you to toggle between
“Xbox Live” and “On This Xbox”. All of your locally stored captures will be under On This Xbox, and if you want to you can remove some of your Xbox Live captures and replace them with new ones that are stored locally.

    Hopefully this helps, cheers!

Captures disappearing from "this xbox" in the drop down list. Please help

Regarding older clips and deleted: I think older stuff might get deleted automatically to make space for any new uploads, but I regularly go back and manually remove older recorded clips just in case. I save them to my PC hard drive before doing so, so I
    still have a back up.

As for your other issue of recent captures vanishing, that seems very odd. I know a lot of people have had issues uploading captures to XBL in the last few weeks, but if they're vanishing from your XBox itself then that seems bizarre. Does anybody else have
access to your console? Is it possible that somebody might be deleting them manually?

How to retrieve photo and video screenshots.

    Hi Mr Mayosapien

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

We understand that you need help with this concern. We will work together to achieve your desired resolution.

You can also download your captures locally to your PC by following these steps:

    • Open the Xbox app on your PC.
    • Sign in to the app using your Microsoft account.
    • Select the Captures icon on the left menu panel.
    • Select On Xbox Live to view captures you’ve uploaded to Xbox Live.
    • Select the Download button to download the captures locally to your PC.

Things to keep in mind when uploading to the Xbox Network

Automatic uploading is standard, but in case you need to turn it on, press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system > Settings > Preferences > Capture & share > Automatically upload.

To upload a capture that wasn’t uploaded automatically, select the capture, and then select Upload. Here are some important things to keep in mind:

    • You can upload up to 10 GB of captures to the Xbox network. Once you reach that limit, you’ll need to delete existing captures to upload new ones.
    • Any game clip or screenshot that’s uploaded to the Xbox network that gets no views in 30 days will be deleted. Viewing it yourself counts as a view and saves a capture from deletion.
    • Captures that don't get uploaded to the Xbox network will remain on the console they were recorded on.
    • If you see a Warning icon next to a capture, that means that the game clip or screenshot is scheduled for automatic deletion. The expiration date is listed on the individual capture.
    • You can also view captures that are scheduled for automatic deletion by opening the Captures app, and then selecting the Expiring soon filter.

We look forward to your reply.

    Sincerely
