So I just bought xbox gold and when I redeemed it, it became 4 months of xbox games pass. I only had one month of game pass left and I wanted to switch to gold because I no longer use the games. I can't manually change it back and when I went to request
a call they were "too busy". Ive been trying to contact these people for 5 hours now and they wont seem to be able to fix my problem. Xbox you need to fix this

what you can do is cancel your Ultimate subscription and subscribe to Live Gold again.

However, if you would like to dispute on why you would like to be an Xbox Live Gold member than a Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member... you could contact Xbox customer service.

Once, you agreed to convert Xbox Live Gold into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is final.

Support would be the only ones who could possible help you, but there are no guarantees as the system does warn you of the conversion before you complete the transaction. By completing the transaction you agree to the conversion.

If you are referring to losing Xbox Live Gold because you cancelled Game Pass Ultimate, there is nothing that can be done. It clearly states that Xbox Live Gold will be converted to Game Pass Ultimate days and can not be reverted and that canceling Game
Pass Ultimate will cancel out the converted Xbox Live Gold. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/billing/xbox-subscriptions/xbox-game-pass-ultimate-faq

You can cancel your Game Pass Ultimate membership at any time, and you will
continue to have access to your Ultimate benefits until your prepaid time ends, at which point you will not be charged again.

with Xbox Live Gold you get 3 free Games With Gold each month that are yours to play as long as you have an active Live Gold subscription. if you play any of those games then you will want to keep Live Gold

with Xbox Game Pass you have access to all the games in the Game Pass library. if you play any of those then you will want to keep Game Pass

as the others have said, there is a new service which combines Live Gold and Game Pass called Ultimate Game Pass (which works out cheaper than the 2 separate subscriptions)

if you upgrade to Ultimate Game Pass it will convert any Live Gold and/or Game Pass you have into Ultimate Game Pass.

do not cancel Ultimate Game Pass as it does not give you back the separate Gold and Game Pass that was converted.

it's best to turn off recurring billing and just let the Ultimate Game Pass run out if you wish to go back to only using Game Pass or Gold.
