    My Xbox live gold is not working, sort of


    ok. So I bought a 60 gift card for a year of gold. I put the code and supposedly redeemed it. I was able to get a free game because of it. I tried to play a game in multiplayer and it told me to buy live. I’ve turned off the console, restarted it, restarted
    and disconnected it from the outlet and waited, and then reconnected it and turned it on, tried again, tried with different games, but I can’t connect to live gold for multiplayer. It says I have it and it expires next year, it even says on my history. Please
    help me.

    Xbox LIVE is working for me at the moment.

    But isn't that why we pay for Xbox LIVE (Gold), to make sure this sort of thing doesn't happen for the big releases?

    When I try to log in to xbox live, an onscreen message pops up saying I need xbox live gold membership to access online features...… my xbox subscription expires next year. Everything was working fine at the beginning of the week. Anyone else having the
    same problems or is it just one of them xbox glitches that will sort itself out eventually???

    Thanks for your suggestions :) I cleared my cache ( didn't work ) and apparently I must have Xbox Live Gold to sync it. Which brings me on to the real problem (which is ridiculous) I need an active Xbox Live subscription to be able to transfer points. 0_o
    Thanks for your help but I've called support already and are sorting it out.

    Now, I'm unsure if you actually read my post, as I mentioned previously I have repeatedly checked my settings because that's the only piece of advice I've been given by anyone on any sort of forum to try to fix it. The only thing that I can think of is that maybe since I am only getting xbox live gold through gameshare It doesn't work, but that just doesn't really make sense because it worked prior to a week or two ago while I also only had gameshared xbox live gold.

    I rang XBOX support and explained the situation to them. After they upgraded my XBOX LIVE account to a gold account I was able to download my profile and login with no issues.

    Seems the fix is to upgrade your Silver account to a Gold account.

    Glad it's finally sorted now.
