My xbox live gold experience so far

This thread is not meant for support seeking, more like expressing my thoughts about how my experience has been like so far with xbox live gold. it hasn't been that great for me so far because nearly everytime I wanna play black ops 2 or ghosts in a public
match it disconnects me from live, most of the time its during a match, got a probation warning because of this. tech support is useless as far as I can tell, I went through 2 tech support reps and they both told me to do the same freaking thing (with an exception
of one thing) that didn't solve the issue, to make sure I could get my account back if I lost my password or something. so long story short its been pretty crappy for me. I got an xbox 360 because I'm always hearing a lot of people liking it and prefer it
over the ps3, so I caved and bought one just to see what its like, before I used my one free month subscription I was like wow, this is awesome, then I started to get in to black ops 2, then this disconnected from live started to spam me and by spam I mean
happening nearly every time. it appears that I have founds a solution to the disconnection issue but it means accepting lag infested matches and that is setting the search preference to "any". by doing so when I shoot first and put nearly half or more of my
bullets in to someone I die and they're either super injured or barely a scratch, no hit markers,basically the stuff that everyone hates. or, I get set it to normal and get matches the way they're suppose to be and get the disconnected from live happening
countless times. now after what you've just read you'd probably think well it must be black ops 2 and ghosts having a problem right? well sadly no, even world of tanks does it. somehow minecraft has zero issues, me host or not, except if the host has poor
internet.

I mean I know the ps3 has free online play but at least I can play call of duty whenever I freaking please. this is what people are really getting for a paid service?

My experience so far.

I'm posting this here for god knows what reason. I just want the thing to work properly. So got my Xbox One yesterday. The games are amazing but there's a whole lot of stuff happening on this thing which shouldn't be in my opinion. I'll try to summarize what I think needs improvement and just basically highlight my dissapointments and just some of the stuff I really liked.

**- Friends App**

The friends app seems to look nice and all but doesn't work well at all. I got a message from a guy while playing Battlefield on my girlfriends profile. When I clicked to open it, it went to the dashboard and automatically signed me in on my profile. This made the game end which was anoying. But I guess it's my fault for having Kinect sign in activated. Anyhow, I opened the message finally and decided to browse through this guys uploaded videos.. After viewing one video I pressed the B button to go back to his videos but instead it took me to my activitiy feed. Which wasn't were I was just at, at all..?

**- Installations**

I was installing Call of Duty ghosts and after the first bit of it finished I tried to play a bit of the squads mode.. We were soon done with this and decided to pop-in Battlefield. This stopped the installation of Call of Duty. For the next 10 minutes we kept getting repeated pop-ups saying we cancelled the installation for the game. It got annoying real quick.

**- Kinect**

The lack of any interaction with the Kinect camera on the Xbox One has been a major disappointment for my girlfriend who used to play the Kinect quite often before. The first thing we tried together was probably the most uninteresting game of jet-ski racing I've ever played. We couldn't even do the facial recognition thing to put our self in the game. Also the whole starting menu seemed to have to be operated with the controller? After that we tried to operate the console via voice commands, while it does work sometimes, the fact that it would have probably been a much better first impression if we had to just do everything with the controller left us a bit sad. Playing games, the Kinect often seems to put us back to Xbox home and in Dead Rising 3 the map or pause menu comes up randomly without even having said anything. The lack of any option to turn Kinect voice commands off entirely is strange. Surely they must have known it would misinterpret stuff occasionally, at least?

**- Other**

Besides all that, while playing DR3, the sound had turned to surround sound out of nowhere, making voices inaudible during gameplay. I also found that the trigger rumble was a little bit distracting during intense shootouts, might just need a little getting used to but the option to turn it off would be nice. Being on Sky in the UK, I knew the TV part wasn't going to be fully integrated and I've been lucky enough not to run into the 50hz/60hz issue going around. My only complaint in this sense is that I wish I could add some sort button layout so I could switch channels with my controller. So that's pretty much all the stuff I don't like so far. All in all the launch has been quite underwhelming for me and my girlfriend. We've had two Xbox 360's in the house forever and going over to an Xbox One has left us with a strange feeling so far. That's not to say we don't like it. Battlefield 4 is amazing on the Xbox One, smooth gameplay and crispy shark textures with beautiful lighting is just perfect. Dead Rising is also highly addictive to play and I can't wait till my girlfriend gets off of it right now, lol. I really hope they can add some more Kinect content, the jet-ski is the worst tech demo for any kind of technology I've ever seen. As far as the voice control part of the Xbox go, I think I would feel a lot happier knowing it was completely turned off. PLEASE ADD THIS OPTION!!!
Also can somebody tell me about crashes? I've had my Xbox return to the home screen and the game stop entirely, causing us to lose progress, just as I'm writing this. This has happened a couple times before during Battlefield as well. I'm wondering if this is some sort of crash of the system?

If you're going to downvote at least tell me why, I love the Xbox as much as you guys lol. I've been telling everybody to buy one for years and now that I've gotten it I am trying to find a way to deal with these issues and hopefully have them resolved. Otherwise I'm just going to look like an idiot for having endorsed it.

My experience so far.

The rumors for Halo 5 make it sound pretty promising. I'll pick up an X1 then. In the meantime I'm glad there are people willing to beta test it.

Both black ops 2 and ghost are taken over by modders, on both xbox and ps3.

As far as i know those are the only games you get probation in, and thats done by the developers not microsoft.

My advice is to ditch all call of duty games.

I didn't mean it to sound like I'm blaming microsoft for the probation warning, all I ever meant is that I got probation warning because of the disconnects happening so often. as of lately it looks like black ops 2 is taken over by campers, so much so I've
given it the name camp of duty lol, although I was warned about heavy camping in black ops 2 before hand a while back before I even thought about getting an xbox.

If you give other games a try that don`t involve call of duty or similar, you will find xbox live a much better experience.

Try some co-op games, rather than ones that pit you against other people.

Thanks theowenkiller, you're probably right . I'm just glad that I didnt pay for the games because they came with the console. I'll probably just stick with private matches with the friends I have on here, playing with your friends against the ai is pretty
fun, or just against each other, sometimes both lol.
