My xbox live gold 3 month card was canceled?

Today i got this email:

We're sending you this message to confirm that your Prepaid 3M Xbox LIVE Gold subscription was canceled on Thursday, June 26, 2014.

I was going to ask if the time simply ran out or if someone else manually canceled my subscription.

xbox Support should be able to tell you all Information, i dont think you should recieve that email if it was a usual expiration

So... I have the 12 month recurring subscription for Xbox Live Gold (£49.99 per year). I want upgrade to Games Pass Ultimate (£10.99 per month).

My question is do I need to cancel my Xbox live gold sub, and then get ultimate pass. Or will it cancel it automatically?
