My xbox keeps taking ages to load, I then have to fully refresh it for it to work, even then ...

evry ay this thing wont workit wont let me press backaspace I this text box, just read what it says above. Its really annoying me and ibwas wondering if there is something aeseriously wrong with my xbox? I still have a waranty on it I think.but I don't want
to loose any data. I apologise tor the rediculouae amount of spelling mistakes but my phone has also bugged and I cant click backspace.

Very slow startup and games loading

Since trying to use my xbox one this morning everything has been very slow. Its taking at least 5 minutes to start up, stays on green screen for ages then again a black screen for ages then finally loads to dashboard. One i put a game in it then takes 5
10 minutes for that to finally load aswell. I've tried holding the power button to reboot but still taking ages. Any tips to fix it? TIA

 

Activity feed and achievement notifications busted.

My activity feed is not updating properly, my recent activity (screenshots, achievements, shares and friend adds) does show up at first but then it doesn't show up later when I refresh it, my Showcase sometimes shows up or doesn't show up whenever I go to
my profiles feed and some of my friends activity doesn't show up when I refresh the feed too

and like I said it's mostly showing activity from days and weeks ago

That's all I know.

 

a couple of thing you can try.

1. put console in power saver mode then turn console off, unplug the power supply from the back of oconsole wait a couple of mins reconnect turn console back on.

2. look to see how much Xbox One storage space you have if the console's Storage is very full this may slow things down, consider external storage, this may keep your consoles storage snappy.

 

You need to run a cold restart.. hold down power button until it goes off... unplug from wall.. wait a few minutes and plug back in.. also make sure your XB is NOT connected to a power strip and plugged directly into the wall outlet...

 

Ok thanks, It cant reach the power socket so I have to use the extension lead, is this the problem. Also will try unplugging I for a while

 

You shouldn't have your Xbox plugged into a power extension cable? I thought it was ok as long as it had a proper surge protector ?

Like suggested above, perform a Hard Rest, this should hopefully fix your issues.

If the worst happens though you shouldn't lose your data as long as your console has been connected to Xbox LIVE recently. Game saves are backed up to the Cloud so if you did need a new console, you would have to re-install or download any digital games
you have but once you put your Gamertag on a new console and load the games back up it will just spend a few minutes synching your saves and your data will be back.

 

Ok, I have tried everything now and it still happens. It seems to get worse every time. Thanks guys for your help but it might just be a problem with my console. I've already had this a few times.

Moral of the story: Never buy an xbox from game!

 

I've always found GAME brilliant for exchanging faulty items.

My daughter's Xbox One had issues, took it down and they replaced it there and then so you should have no worries.

 

Same here, I always found GAME to really friendly and helpful with any returns, Unlike CEX I was waiting in a line for age's to served, when it was my turn I walked up to the counter, the grumpy young girl said "I didn't call YOU!! go back and wait at the
line !!"

I just laughed at her put the game cases on her counter and walked out, went to Game paid £2 more for what I wanted, but worth every penny lol ..

 

We have just had our first CEX open when I live, well 2 weeks back.

I thought I'd try them as I've never been in a CEX before. Sure you get unfriendly people everywhere but they were the most miserable bunch of people I've met.

The most concerning thing though was the smell in the shop, smelt like a crapper that hadn't been cleaned in years! Very off putting.

Needless to say, they won't have the pleasure of my company again

You could try refreshing by holding both triggers(RT LT) And Y then release.

 

Ok when ever I try and load an app or game on it, it now just says

'Please give it another try. If this happens again, let us know by entering 0x80070032 at xbox.com..........'

I have tried doing that and xbox.com says that there is no such error code?! I definitely entered it right. I have also tried doing everything above multiple times and no difference. My xbox also now takes 30 minutes to load D:

Should I just demand a replacement from game again? (for the 2nd time)

It would seem to make sense in your case too. Try cycling your network gear.
