    My Xbox isn’t updating or letting me delete the game or cancel install


    I was trying to open up minecraft it said it needed to update I then preceded to update it but when I did it like had it saying installing and their was two Minecraft’s on the games section of my games and apps. It wasn’t increasing at all in percentage I tried to pause it and it wouldn’t pause I tried to cancel it it wouldn’t cancel I tried to install another game and it wouldn’t install that game even if I clicked install now it just continues to say installing and I even tried deleting minecraft but it wouldn’t delete. I’ve turned my Xbox one s off and back on, I have restarted it and nothing changed it it still contained to do that so now I can’t even download any games anymore or update anything please help

    Hi Nicholas, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

    I have here steps that we can try, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

    ​​​

    "1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​"

    If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

    "Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

    Reset and keep my games & apps."

    The game is fully updated and I’m now also noticing that Witch Hunt dlc isn’t installed either which says the same thing, that it should also be installed automatically, but it most certainly isn’t on my console.

    I Lost 2 games.

    When an update is canceled the console deletes the game completely.
    I agree with you that re-installing the game and in addition to such capacity is stressful.

    Is a safe option....because when you cancel the update could corrupt the game data, so in all games and apps in xbox one when you cancel and update will delete all the game including the update and only will keep the other content (dlcs). When you put
    back to install it all over again, you are now downloading the game with the update included.

    Your game should not uninstall because you canceled an update. Canceling an update simply stops the update installation process. It does not delete anything whatsoever.
