    Hi, im new to the Xbox forums but im no stranger to the xbox consoles. i had my xbox 360 for over 4 years now and had little to no trouble with it. Its a 16 gigabyte fat white xbox. yesterday i was playing a game on the flash drive. my flash drive
    was working properly up until today. when I went to play the same game on the usb i couldnt find my second profile on my flash drive (for safety). i shrugged it off and just redownloaded my profile and got to the games tab. But i didnt see my game! i went
    to the storage option and saw that my USB was not thee. i tried reconecting the device but it was no good. the usb was already configured by the xbox. i had paid 20 dollars for my game and was not about to throw it out after a week of play. i know i could
    just redownload the game since i already downloaded it. but i also had some game saves on my USB. i put in another flash drive and that worked. so i know that its not the USB port in the xbox wasnt the problem. I didnt pay full price for a game just to play
    it for a week. Please help if you can.

    Help, my console does not detect my usb flash drive anymore.

    My console stopped recognizing the flash drive from one day to the other. The usb ports are all working and the console still detects other usb flash drives still not formatted. I tried putting it on the pc and it does detect the xbox formatted flash
    drive. The usb is a 16Gb kingston data traveler 2.0. I already tried putting it after I started the console, what do I do? My console is the original model (fat) arcade version with 256mb internal storage device. The usb flash drive was formatted on the console.

    Please tell me this is a sick joke

    You need a 16 gb USB flash drive. It MUST have sufficient read speed 15mb/s

    "This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance. "

    Hi there,

    my guess is that the usb device somehow got corrupted, which does mean that you probably will need to format/configure it again to use it on the xbox 360 console. I'm afraid that also means that you will loose all data on it.

    Games and profiles you should be able to redownload without any problems, but if the save games were only on that usb device and not somewhere else then I'm afraid that they are gone.

    Can no longer use external storage

    In my case, the drive is recognized by PS4 just fine. But Xbox does not recognize ANY storage device - several hard drives or USB flash drive.

    My PNY 128gb usb flash drive that was connected to my XBOX One when updated is no longer recognized by my TV's USB Media port either. It is still recognized by all my computers. This is saddening, luckily I have a 16gb Media drive that is still recognized
    by both.

    I've tried all types of formatting of the 128gb drive and nothing is working, kinda frustrating really!
