My xbox is stuck on the applying update page.

Earlier my xbox was stuck on the green screen after the april update. I did an update offline using a usb, it starts to update however on the applying update page it stops roughly around 75% into the the applying of the update.

(I tried reset 7 times)

(xbox turned off by its self when i waited around 10-30 minutes)

(i tried pulling plugs out)

Xbox One Constantly Resets

it starts up at the applying update screen and my xbox restarts back to the applying update screen. Its basically stuck in a loop

 

Same problem with mine. I went to install the update and it wouldn't go past 75% for about 6 hours, so restarted it and got stuck on the green loading screen and have done tried the offline update method multiple times and still won't go past the same point.

 

Same problem..stuck at 75% of applying update even by using USB Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool. What's worst is that I can't even play any games b/c after force restarting I either get a blank black screen or frozen green screen with XBONE logo.

Ugh, should have never updated!!!!!

 

I am having the same problem as well. I went to install the latest update, it froze, I waited at least 5 hours (I was outside working) and when I came back in it had not moved. So I turned it off, tried the USB solution, and it is now stuck in the same spot
it was stuck in the first time. This is ridiculous. It has wasted at least 3 days of my Xbox Live Gold subscription.

 

FYI: This is associated with the April 2015 update

 

Has anyone tried reformatting their Xbox back to the original default using the USB Offline tool? I know this is the worst case scenario, but it's either that or sending to Microsoft for repair.

 

I have not tried using the factory restore from the USB drive. From talking to customer service, it seems the only option is paying them to fix it because their bad update, possibly fixing it from the factory restore, or waiting til another update is released
that may fix the install problem, which they said could be coming before the next monthly update because of how many people have reported this problem.

 

@Godfly13 - Thanks for the update. I haven't had a chance to call Microsoft, but I would definitely fight to have them repair the unit at their expense if I have to go the route of sending it in...

At this point I think I might just bite the bullet and do a factory restore. From what I understand, all games saves should be stored in the cloud as well as on the unit's hard-drive. The only thing I'm really concerned with is my progress in Call of Duy
AW. I don't really play anything else, so resetting isn't that major for me. I'll update this post with results.

 

System restore via USB Offline Tool was successful. Just had to spend some time reinstalling apps and syncing game data/content. I think I'll hold off on reapplying April update until kinks have been worked out.

Im so glad that Im not alone who is facing this issue even after applying offline update, on the other hand Im so displeased with M$ about this update. Please make sure whenever you release an update even if it doesn't satisfy the needs atleast make sure
it doesn't break the console.

No matter How hard Im trying to love Xbox starting from 1st Xbox released, This brand has always given me troubles when it comes to hardware that first started from RROD. Please understand our pain.

 

Same here, console was working fine last night with update installed, but since this morning keeps getting stuck at the black screen (after green loading)...tech support recommended the diagnostic tool, am also now stuck at about 75%...

 

Same here stuck at 75%, had left on for about 5 hours.

 

Went ahead and also did the reset to factory settings with the USB. Fixed all the problems it seems. You have to go through the setup of your console again, but as long as you were always connected online, your game saves were saved to your profile so
I still have them as I've gone through and replayed a few games just to check to see if I still had saved progress. It's just a matter of reinstalling the games if they weren't saved to an external hard drive. It also shows that the update did apply, so
I have the latest update running.
