my Xbox is now BROKEN due to XB Support offline update!!!!

I've been in the same boat as many others when the xbox Live went down last week. in that I couldn't log into xbox live. I tried the idea (which worked before) of deleting the memory (I forgot the term) on the memory unit and then reformatting it and redownloading
my gamertag since, like I said it worked just fine before (during the Christmas fiasco). well it would never reformatted. so I figured maybe buying a hard drive could work since I only had the original 4gb internal memory unit. so I bought a brand new 120gb
hard drive a couple days and popped it in. Didn't work. the same 42FE-0000-3080-0300-D000-0185 with the "failed update." so I went to Xbox 360 System Update Error Codes | Troubleshoot Xbox Update Problems after
reading someone else having the same issue and tried the USB method. and guess what happened? RED RING OF DEATH! I'm BEYOND angry! I should not have to shell out $100+ to send in for repairs or replace since I'm already paying for Xbox Live Gold and bought
a 120gb hard drive to help fix the problem!!!!

I just joined the beta testers

the mega millions that broke my xbox this update broke my connectivity to live so the update is pointless now...

Xbox Update Failed (5/15/17) Size: 459Mb

Having the same problem, but can't update offline because I don't have a 4gb usb. Although my update says 386mb and is trying to update from os .3047 to os.3054

Mine is

Os: 2022 to Os: 3054

I contacted support and they said it was due to the preview program insider hub.

So im trying to unenroll now so i can actually play something.

if that's the case, you may simply delete the inside hub from your console and then try the update

That would be an easy fix but they told me to format my xbox to see if it works and of course it didnt,

Now im stuck at the update failed screen and cant go offline now.

make sure when you do the update that it is from the xbox web site. other web sites can put viruses in your xbox and cause this. resulting in the red ring of death because of software issues

it was. I downloaded it directly from the xbox website. I'm beyond ticked off XBOX!!!!

There is no official 120gb hard drive for the Slim 4g model Xbox. You have purchased an unauthorized piece of 3rd party hardware. So that could be part of your most recent problems. Also, the Slim Xbox does not get the Red Ring of Death but rather the
Red Dot. If you are seeing something other than the red dot you may wish to check here

One last thing, if you take the hard drive out will the red lights go away?

mine just bricked on the latest update. offline update 2 doesn't do it (neither does 1)..and all of support appears to be broken. no ambassador support, phones closed early (!?!?), and the live chat window keeps having problems and saying 'chat not initialized.
- not a fan right now, Microsoft.

Until very recently I have been able to play rdr2 offline with no problem. Since the most recent update (Feb 15 2022, i think) has completely broken offline play for this game. This is super frustrating because My wifi is terrible and I am now loosing large amounts of progress due to my game randomly quitting to home screen saying "Check Connection".

I should mention I have a digital copy so I can't do a disk install.

I have hard reset my xbox, I have removed and re-added my profile, I have cleared local save data, I have set and un-set my xbox to "home xbox". I'm in the process of reinstalling rdr2 but it's literally going to take days.

(I've contacted Rockstar and they said the issue was on xbox's end and that their game can be played offline.)

Can you work on fixing this issue caused by the update? I really don't want to prematurely put this game down due to Xbox's incompetence.

I have the same problem. All the updates are up to date and I have performed the hard reset, the problem continues. All my other games work ok except RDR 2, right now I don't have internet and I want to play offline and Microsoft doesn't give me any solution, ridiculous. Rockstar support is at least trying, I hope I get lucky with them.
