My Xbox is high latency , I want to fix it (PC)

Hi there Knippe welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Try the following steps!

Open the Xbox Guide by pressing the guide button on the controller and select
Settings.

Select Network Settings.

Select Advanced Settings.

Under Change Settings select Alternate MAC Address.

Select Clear.

Allow the console to restart when prompted.

Also I highly recommend port forwarding to improve all your devices connections to the Xbox servers! Both your PC and console!

How is it with the latency?

On my PC they worked fine. I only use to test what a game is like before downloading either on my high end gaming PC (if available) or console.

Bearing in mind that my PC is wired so there isn't any network latency.

The test on the xbox is apparently testing against a server in Seatle, USA which is why you are getting high latency.

I do not actually have it enabled for wired or WiFi. When I check my latency from my pc using connection benchmarking from my router it comes back as normal. Same if I use my Xbox to connect to my routers Web site and test it there it comes back normal.Only when I am doing a test on my console is when high latency occurs

Sorry you are having problems with your Xbox.

Have you tried rebooting your internet connection , your Xbox, etc, To see if this fixes the problem ?

I know of people who play Xbox games online with a latency/ping much higher than the one your screenshot showed. It could be that when you was playing that game, at that specific time , your network or your isp was having brief problems. Have you tried said
game again , to see if the same problem persists ?
