My xbox is displaying a gray screen when turned on.

so when I turn on my Xbox one it starts the boot up screen but once that finishes it resorts to a gray screen. This has been the case for about a year now and I havent been able to fix it. So I thought as a last resort just to ask the community befor getting
it repaired.

Black and gray screen no other images loading.

When I turned on the Xbox One after loading I see a black and gray screen with the normal header with gamer tag and avatar in upper left. Top half is black bottom is gray. This does NOT seem to be the "Black screen of death". The menu will come up but no
apps will run or even show in the main part of the screen. It allows me to login but under connections it says I am not logged into my live account. However it will not show in main part of screen I have checked the network connection and it works wired and wireless.
I have done a hard reset a couple times, even reset my modem. I have tested a different HDMI cable but no change.

When I try to go to setting it just shows the same black and gray split sceen. Everything was working fine yesterday, now I dunno. Out of ideas...

 

Xbox Troubleshooting

Hey guys! I just bought Sunset Overdrive again and I put it in my Xbox to install but my Xbox One froze in the process. I unplugged it and not when I turn on my Xbox it displayed the green loading screen and then goes to a black screen. On this black screen I can hold the controller button to turn the Xbox off and I voice commands also show up on the screen. I can't say "Xbox Play Disc" and have it play the disc though.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Blank Screen Troubleshooter you can run through for this particular issue. Unfortunately if none of the steps there work out for you a repair is going to be your best bet. Let us know how it goes.
