My Xbox is completely black

What do I do when my Xbox turns on normally with the green screen and all, says welcome Michael, with the blue bar at the bottom of my screen with my icon, and then stays black, I can’t see a single thing except when I hold my Xbox button on my controller
down, the screen where it says turn Xbox off or turn controller off or report a problem, but no apps will load neither will the home screen.

Gameplay problems

My Xbox one has no problem playing movies or watching videos or even in a lobby my screen is great but when it goes into gameplay my screen flickers for instance fortnite is a great game but my screen gets full of black squares until my screen is completely
full of them and all I see is black on my tv please help

My game stops installing

so I am trying to download black ops 3 again but it's always stops at 35%. There is more than enough room on my Xbox and the disc is completely clean, what is the problem?

Hi

Can you please try pressing and holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for 5-10 seconds to force the console to fully shut down. After this can you wait for a couple of minutes and then try powering the console back up and hopefully everything
should be back to normal afterwards.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

You might also try a different HDMI cable and HDMI port on your TV.

I'm now experiencing what appears to be the same issue as Terrell Watson. My xbox had started behaving glitchy and slow for the past week or so. Then today at start up my Xbox One was stuck at the green loading screen for 10 plus minutes before the screen
went black. My Xbox One then hung on a blank black screen forever sometimes displaying an icon for a few seconds before going completely black again.
