    My Xbox installs the entire game instead of just the update


    It started about a month or two ago and every update causes the ENTIRE game to have to be re downloaded. I live out in rural texas so the best internet is 5mps meaning large updates have taken up to a week. It is making my xbox trash when i have to install
    red dead 2 a 95gb game three times so far. If this isnt fixed im just throwing the thing out due to how pissed off i al that i get a couple free hours before work to play the master chief collection but no nvm i gotta wait till next week now and my internet
    will be even more slow for a week. 0/10 usability

    Thanks for reaching out to us with this issue. Its possible that the change may be due to an incorrect installation the first time the game was downloaded and installed. Also, if you previously cancelled the update for the game and then restarted it, it
    would cause it to reinstall the entirety of the game as well. At this point, its best to just wait for it to complete rather than to stop and restart the update. Super sorry for any inconvenience that this may be causing you as well.

    Rockstar RDR2 Forums     to see if anyone else has a solution or has had the same experience. Alternately, you can reach out to Rockstar about the issue directly as well.

    Any chance you are using an external drive? I had some issues where the problem was the external drive and it kept forcing me to re-download the entire game anytime it patched.

    Xbox Insider program    ? Is the power mode of the console set to
    instant-on or energy-saving    ? If the console is on instant-on, we recommend changing the console to energy-saving. Be sure to let us know the results!
