My Xbox headset adapter is not working properly

My Xbox one headset adapter isn't working.Its not letting me talk to anyone and I say making my friends quiet.

setting up Razer chimaera 5.1 headset on Xbox One

Hi!

I have stereo headset from Razer company, model chimaera 5.1. This is wireless headset for Xbox360.

After bying Xbox One, and bying microsoft headset adapter (official) for xbox one, this headset start working with chat. But buttons on headset adapter not work correctly. Not matter what i'm doing, changing volume of chat or game, in my headset changes
all volume. If dont use this buttons, game sounds are so loud that i cant hear chat(((

And buttons on headset dont work correctly (there are butons on headset for
regulation chat and game volumes). There is the same thing. Like sound getting in with one stream.

Is there any opportunity to make the headphones work properly with Xbox One?

Headset Adapter - Chat not heard on my end.

So, I have the XboxOne headset adapter. Was working fine. Then stopped working properly about a month ago.

Sound is fine. People can hear me in chat but, I can't hear them.

I even bought a new adapter to see if the old one was shot.

New one has same issue. (a wasted $30).

My sons Tritton adapter works fine.

So, what's up Xbox? You have a fix for this?

mine as well..i can hear but not talk,,my adapter is alwayse muted..this is killing my multi player experience,,no one wants to party up...help

Its the adapter, or whatever they've done to its firmware/software.

Both Tritton headsets. do the same thing when connected to the Xbox One adapter.

Even the turtle beach headset I had for my 360 worked with the Xbox One adapter, and it doesn't work properly now either. Same issue. People can hear me. I can't hear them.

All headsets work with the Tritton adapter. Unfortunately Microsoft won't license anyone to sell an adapter separate from a headset.

You may need to re-update the controller to work properly with the adapter. Just plug the controller into the Xbox and follow these steps:

What headset are you using?

Be aware that there are two standards of headset plugs called CTIA and OMTP. On both standards, the Microphone and ground connector on that plug are reversed.

For a headset to work properly, the headset connector has to be a CTIA standard plug. If your headset is a phone headset (e.g. Apple or some older Android or Nokia compatible headsets), then they use the OMTP standard, and won't work properly.

If you do have an OMTP compatible headset, simply buy a CTIA to OMTP adapter (or since the adapter simply crosses two wires, it is automatically an OMTP to CTIA adapter as well). Also, since the adapter only crosses two wires, these adapters should be dirt
cheap. If a store asks you to pay for this adapter more than you'd pay for a Coffee to Go, you're being ripped off.

I would recommend the official Xbox brand stereo headset as it claims to be compatible with all xbox one wireless controllers:

It probably doesn't need the stereo headset adapter - but if you're going to buy this headset, better just buy the stereo headset adapter to get your other headsets, that you already own, to work properly
