My Xbox Headphones connect twice and all sounds come out double

I read on a different thread, that the crossed out microphone is a known issue for a few consoles out there.

They recommend you
contact the official support for further troubleshooting on that issue. Depending on who you reach, you might have to try several people until you get one that has been properly trained on that issue.

If possible, can you try to connect a headphone (just normal stereo headphones from your MP3 player or something like that) to the Xbox controller and enable sound output through your controller?

That way you can check if it's a hardware issue, where the sound fails through the HDMI port, but is properly generated by the Xbox
(i.e. if the sound is properly coming out of the headphones connected to the controller), or if it's a sound software issue that affects the whole sound system of the console (if the sound does not come out of your headphones).

Go to headphones optiono and my the sound come though your headphones only.

What I did with my XP510 was I went to turtle beach website connected the headphones to my computer and reset them to factory settings and it corrected the problem. Headphones that come with xbox only get sound when your playing on line and chatting with
someone otherwise you get no game sound through them. I had same problem sent the xbox back to be checked and they found no problem.

I'm in the same boat as Toxic and Freelance. I have everything hooked up correctly, but no game audio is coming through my headset. I just opened these up like an hour ago and they won't work.

I have my XBox connected via HDMI, x12s are connected to the XBox via USB, green cable is connnected, red/white is in the corresponding audio out. Volume is turned up everywhere. My game sound is coming through my tv, but not my headphones.

Geri, I'm not sure if you still are receiving this thread but I did get my replacement Xbox controller today and I hooked it up to my series X and everything worked fine except that there is no sound coming through my wired headphones. These are Arctis Prime Steel Series wired headphones that worked fine with all my other controllers and just recently with my Xbox series X controller but when I connected to the Elite control they sent me it does there's no sound coming through. I cleaned the port a harder rebooted my Xbox Series X I updated the firmware and still no results.

Do you have any suggestions?
