My Xbox has stopped playing the disks

Hi There. Please help. My sons Xbox has stopped playing disks. It just does not register them. When we put the disk in to load it pops up with "if you have this disk, please load it now" "Or restart app". Sometimes it works if I leave the disk in the
xbox, power down completely and then power up again with the disk in, ONLY then does it sometimes register the disk inside, but not always. Can anybody help me with a solution to this?

Fifa 14 only doesn't work on MY xbox, but works on others

I was playing Fifa 14 on my xbox 360 and then it stopped working. It only makes it to the title screen of the game and it then freezes for a minute, and then goes to a black screen. The xbox is playing other games fine and the tricky part is the fact that
the disk works perfectly fine on other xboxes. The disk is near perfect condition and I can't seem to figure out a solution. The game has been played many times before on the xbox and it isn't like its the first time I am actually playing the disk.

Xbox one disk tray

So my xbox one is one of the forst that was sold in my town on launch day. Recently my disk tray has stopped working i tried the manual ejection on the side but nothing seems to work. It wont read the disk thats in it currently

this only happens for me with Mass Effect 3 all my old games work fine. Disk 1 will install fine, Disk 2 will not install stopping at 44% even after replacing disk 2 with “a new one” it gets to 44% and will stop with dirty disk error , for some people it
has been disk 1 that has had this problem, others have reported dirty disk error when playing the game or freezing at loading as I have experienced and again as in my case it only effects ME3, other games play fine, so it’s not the disk drive with the problem,
not directly anyway. Also it sounds like this problem has happened before in MW3 “dirty disk errors” . Let make it clear that this is happening to a lot of people not just a few and on new consoles as well.

Stop playing it and just clean you xbox with the clean disk. and play the game slowly by waiting

Agreed with Senna4ever, I do not want a console sitting there being a bluray player if I cannot connect for over 24hours or when the servers stop in many years to come and the support stops I will not be able to play my games from a disk? give me a break,
PS4 YOU CAN PLAY whenever, however and without 24hours check in, after this next gen has stopped you'll be able to play the PS4 but not Xbox One

yeah my drive on my Xbox One X has stopped playing most of my DVD's and some game disks recently at first I thought it was because of game pass as it seem as the games come off game pass the games on disk stopped working? so I canceled GamePass but game
disks will sometimes work or sometimes not? playing DVD's still an issue, I dont know if its the drive or something to do with how microsoft store manages things but it now seems like I have an Xbox One X thats depenent on Microsofts store for games or movies
from now on. so I have basicly an Digital Download Only Xbox One X now

Im just going to have to bite the bullet and sell all the games I have on disk

at a massive loss to :/
