My xbox had downloaded games I haven't paid for and seems to renew without payments

No you didn't misread my topic. I know typically if this happened you wouldn't tell everyone on the internet but I'm concerned eventually I will get charged for missed payments. My xbox one was bought last year at Best Buy in an open box, the Xbox makes
some odd buzzing noises on occasion but it runs perfectly fine. The weird thing is in April of this year I bought a 3 month xbox gold card and have not bought one since. I even called xbox support and they confirmed I have not renewed my gold services. The
funny thing is I can still go online and play games on that profile. I don't have any other profile except that one and it works! I also have had random games appear under my downloaded games I have never purchased: Assassins creed black flag randomly downloaded
a few months ago and more recently black ops III appeared as a preorder when I never purchased anything. I've checked my credit card statements and there is nothing :/ So yes it seems too good to be true and almost unbelievable but its the truth. Anyone hear
of anything like this?? Thanks

Problem

Hey so I had a payment due for my Xbox gold and I repaid the 20 dollars and it said it’s processing and I will get my Xbox gold back but I’ve been sitting here for a little while and it won’t renew on my Xbox even tho I paid the stuff that needed to be paid

My EA access doesn't work after payment!

I've paid for EA access (annual subscribtion) with a credit card on my Xbox One console. The payment was accepted and I started downloading Fifa 17, so at the beginning everything seemed to work fine. But once I downloaded the game I just couldn't start
it. I've tried dozens of times but I can only see: 0x803f800b (1%) and they say that I should renew my subscribtion, which means paying again!

I've checked my subscribion status and it says that my EA access finished exactly on the day I paid for it, which obviously is wrong.

I've also checked my bank account and, of course, the payment was accepted. They've charged me for the EA access which I don't have. It's been a few days since I paid and I haven't been able to start Fifa 17 or any other games from the Vault. What shall
I do? Please help.

Since it was an open box, then most likely it was a return which means the previous owner left your console set as their Home console. The Home console settings allows accounts to share gold subscriptions and games. So as long as your console is still set
as their Home console, you will have access to any games they purchased and their gold.

I have that too I got friday the 13th with savani Jason. And like 10 mins ago it randomly downloaded anime tube but I never owned or bought those though but I'm not complaining it awesome.

Since it was an open box, then most likely it was a return which means the previous owner left your console set as their Home console. The Home console settings allows accounts to share gold subscriptions and games. So as long as your console is still set
as their Home console, you will have access to any games they purchased and their gold.

@Origami - certain aspects of MS's support are outsourced including ZUNE support and PC Safety. I have had interactions with them as these two areas are the contact points for those that compromised MY account. I too have found that in dealing with XBOX
Live support directly, it's *mostly* US. I have however reached individuals overseas.

As for this thread overall -- here's my problem with Microsoft's billing approach. If I purchased a Gold subscription, I PAID for it the day I purchased it. It is good from the day I purchased it through the year of the subscription. It is PAID for.

I as a consumer should be able to opt out of auto renewal at ANY time, with ease.
I as a consumer should be able, when opted out of auto renewal, to remove the credit card on my account WITHOUT forcing cancellation and WITHOUT forfeiting the remained of my PAID subscription.
I as a consumer should be able, without a credit card on my account, USE the XBOX Live service which is PAID FOR for the duration of the PAID subscription.
I as a consumer should be able, without a credit card on my account, to MAKE an ATTEMPT to purchase content online and be DENIED when there is no payment instrument associated with my account. I should alternatively be given the option to TEMPORARILY ADD
or user an ALTERNATIVE PAYMENT METHOD (points card) at the time of purchase/sale.
I as a consumer should be able, WITH a credit card or payment instrument on my account, make an purchase online and NOT be automatically re-enrolled in AUTO-RENEWAL (if this is in fact happening as suggested by this thread) when I explicity in (1) turned
such a feature off at my request. I should NOT be subject to forced re-enrollment simply because I opt to purchase content within a game, on a credit card/payment instrument associated with the account, on what is a PAID subscription. Purchasing content
HAS NO and SHOULD NOT HAVE bearing on a subscription renewal.

Auto renewal should be used as a convenience to subscribers who wish to use it. For those who don't, don't make it an inconvenience.

Never-the-less, it's all about money. Make it hard to cancel auto renewal, you will ensure a certain portion of your subscriber base pays those renewals similar to people who let their gym membership fee be auto debited from their account year over year
when they don't even go to the gym!
