My Xbox goes idle while using any video app like Netflix and twitch

I recommend trying to power cycle the console!

If the issue persists, you can try these:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear

Also select System > Settings > devices and streaming > blue ray > persistent storage > clear three times > restart console.

If the issue keeps on happening, you can soft reset the console by; Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

please my xbox is all of a sudden idling and dimming on Netflix, even shutting off, same on any other app. what is going on?

The first thing I notice is that your internet speed is a little low. The minimum recommended speed for Xbox Live is 3mb down and .5mb up. Your 4 down and .58 up is just barely over it, so that may be part of the issue.

Can you tell us if you have any issues with other video applications like YouTube, Twitch, etc? Or is the issue specific to Netflix?

To start with, I suggest giving the app a redownload. To do that:

• Go to Settings > System > Storage, find the Netflix App and delete it.
• Clear your system cache.
• Restart your console.
• Redownload the Netflix App from the Marketplace or your
  Download History.

Let us know how everything goes after redownloading the app as well as whether you have the same issues with other video apps! ^_^

How did you guys get Netflix working on the Xbox One? I cannot get it to play video. Netflix app launches and logs in, then goes to main page. I select any title there and I get the percentage buffering display, which goes to about 40%, then goes back
to the main screen ( no video plays at all ).

Netflix support isn't useful here as they don't have a clue nor do they seem to care that they don't have a clue.

Here's what I did. If I missed a step or a setting, please let me know what it is?

1) Unbox the new X1, plugin and setup on my network

2) log into Xbox Live

3) download/install Netflix app

4) launch the netflix app and login to Netflix

5) launch a move

I've had a similar issue occur. On both HBOgo and Netflix apps (have not tried Amazon Video or Plex yet). It started yesterday. The video will play for approx. 10 minutes and then the screen will dim. It's like the Xbox enters idle mode and doesn't know
a video is playing.

Coincidentally my Xbox media remote is not functioning right as of yesterday. The ABXY and Xboc buttons work, but not the play/pause/FF/REW commands.
