My Xbox gaming external hard drive isn't being detected by my Xbox one anymore

I've done everything Xbox said to do and I've done everything Seagate said and with there tools it passed all the test so why won't my Xbox detect my external

drive

1) hard drive could be having troubles

2)either the drive port isn't reading the drive or is damaged

3)maybe wrong drive

4)technical issues in the drive port

5) maybe contact support if these might won't help

If you're able to detect other external hard drives without any issues, you may have to try use a new one. Especially considering that you already had multiple troubleshoots failed, from both Xbox & Seagate support.

However, here are a few troubleshooting tips you can try:
1. Ensure that your Xbox One is up-to-date with the latest updates.
2. Check that your external hard drive is securely connected to your Xbox One.
3. Try connecting your external hard drive to a different USB port on your Xbox One.
4. Try power cycling your Xbox One by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds. Then, turn on the console again and see if it detects the external hard drive.

Do you still have your Xbox One and does your external hard drive still work on that console?

I have successfully connected both my Seagate 'Game Drive' and my external SSD USB 3.0 drives to my Series S without any problems. All my installed games show up fine.

The Series X/S supports the same external drives as the Xbox One/S/X support. If your drive isn't being detected it's probably become corrupted or has a hardware issue.

When I added an external hard drive to my console the drive format was pretty quick.

If you have run through all of the steps listed below reference the external hard drive nor being detected and it is still not being detected then I would try to obtain a replacement external hard drive and hopefully this one should work correctly.

I have this same problem but with an xbox one. Right after the update the external hard drive wasn't being detected. Tried with a brand new drive with the same result.

Same here, a recent xbox os update broke compatibility with some external hard drives.

My seagate 5tb media drive stopped being detected by my xbox one s.

Drive checks out fine on a pc with no issues, however, xbox cannot detect the same drive.

I purchased a new 5tb WD external drive and after formatting on a pc it was not detected by xbox os also.

After 2 months of research I eventually fixed the extetnal drive not detected problem.

I used the Western Digital quick format tool to format the external drive and it finally solved the problem.

My 5tb media drive is now detected every time and the initial problem seems to be due to an xbox os update and certain partition types on extetnal hard drives.
