My xbox games will not finish downloading, and I have tried so much.

Hi,

I just wanted to post this here because I don't want to believe the most recent answer I was given, but I would at least like a second opinion on it.

I have the original Xbox One, and the answer I was given was to take this console into a repair shop.

So, I have been trying to re-download FIFA 23 for the past two days with no avail, with the download of that game stopping every time at exactly 11.4%. I have tried other larger and smaller games, with only the smaller games finishing downloading, and other games doing the exact same thing and stopping in the middle of the install. I have tried clearing my mac address, hard resetting my xbox, clearing local files, factory resetting my xbox, downloading it on phone wifi, restarting my internet as well as some other remedies. My xbox works completely fine, and there has been absolutely no problem with my xbox downloading anything at all, and there is no software issues that i can see, and my xbox still runs fast and everything.

I just wanted to ask here for help, in case anyone here knew something else that xbox support didn't know.

Hi Bluxxy, I see... I don't like to give bad news. But exists the possibility that the hard drive has some bad / corrupted blocks and this is why basically all your heavy games always stop at certain percentage.

Before concluding that and get the console inspected:

In case you didn't try it, could be nice perform an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed from scratch.

So those didn't work, and I am downloading things to the internal storage as well as I am using the most recent updated xbox OS on my console (I cross-checked with the xbox updates site)

This can be a bit odd, but did you tried using a custom DNS address?

go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings

Once you’re inside the Advanced Settings menu, go to DNS settings and select Manual from the list of available options.

When you get to the next screen, enter 8.8.8.8 in the box associated with the Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 in the Secondary DNS box.

Once the default DNS addresses have been changed, restart your console and see if the issue has been resolved at the next console startup.

If that doesn't work use 1.1.1.1 as primary and 1.0.0.1 as secondary

Are you trying to download the games to the internal storage? Or do you have connected an external hard drive?

Are you using an insider build / beta OS in your console ?

Well I finished downloading the Star Trek online game and again tried to download the Assassins Creed Chronicles games and it failed again. Changed my DNS settings to the google DNS settings and instantly the download started. Finished installing one of
the Assassins Creed games and changed the DNS settings back to normal and again the next Assassins Creed game failed to download, changed DNS settings back to the Google DNS and the game downloaded and installed, I then downloaded the last game without an
issue using the Google DNS settings.

Thank you so much for the suggestion it worked a treat, not sure why it was being blocked by my ISP DNS.

It will not start the download it just stays at 0% downloaded but in my notifications it says its finished downloading.

Its the only game I have tried on game pass that will not download.
