My Xbox Downloaded Games I Never Purchased

ngocphi, you're wrong, gamesharing is promoted and actually pushed as a bit of a selling point by Microsoft. To the O.P , the only solution I can come up with is maybe your Xbox one is a store returned Xbox. I'm fairly certain you wouldn't be the
first person to have been sold a returned Xbox. Either by an unscrupulous store, or perhaps by an in house mix up. This would explain why, to the best of your knowledge no-one has ever used it before but you're receiving free games. Someone has probably
taken your Xbox back to the shop for some fault or other after setting up their gamertag on it. Then when they've received a replacement, they've thought nothing of it, set up their gamertag on their new system, and they'd be none the wiser. They could
be in a different city/ state or whatever and be completely oblivious that yours and his Xboxes are linked. This would seem the most plausible explanation to me ?. To be perfectly honest I'd take these games as gifts. You've done everything correctly,
explained to Microsoft that you don't know where these games are coming from, they're either unwilling or unable to shed any light on it. I mean, come on, it takes seconds to delete a game from your drive if you decide you don't want it. You may even end
up with duplicate digital copies of games you've bought. Allowing you to boot them from the drive AND sell your hard copy for hard cash enabling you to buy even more games you want !. I really cannot for the life of me see any downside. I'd love it if I
woke up one day to find I was getting unexplained free games. I'd happily swap you my boring ' not getting random free

Idiot 5, I appreciate your input, and I largely feel the same way... it's free stuff, why complain? But I do get concerned when things like this happen because who knows what other things are going on? Like perhaps my info is somehow on someone else xbox,
etc. (doubtful I know)

I can, however, put your theory to rest about my Xbox being a store return or a refurbished one, etc. I got my Xbox day one (delivered on the day of release) direct from the Microsoft Store.

 

Allow me to share an information based upon our experience. There are three possibilities why you have received a game that you did not purchase:

1. Your Xbox One is a refurbished or pre-owned that you purchased from someone else that has left his account setup as Home Xbox to that console that you're using now.

2. Like what the Ambassador that first answered your inquiry, someone else must have used your console and set his/her own account as Home Xbox to your console, then he/she purchased the game Assassin's Creed and it has been downloaded into your console
after.

3. The game was a glitch, we have contacted an Xbox Support before because there was a game that had the same issue before (forgot the title) as the previous support told me that this is an ongoing issue and they had to collect our Xbox Live Profile details,
Gamertag to be specific, country where I reside, email for possible contact information, etc. as they were conducting an investigation about this with their Engineers.

@Smwutches. The thread is still relevant and was not "bumped". "Bumping" is when someone adds a single word to a thread to keep it at the top of a list of threads. This did not happen here. THere are intelligent folks here trying to discuss a topic and share
similar experiences.

 

Actually anything that is posted that moves a thread to the top of the forum is bumping the thread to the top. At the time I posted that though, I was referring to Idiot 5 because I did not see the second page of posts (sorry). It's usually frowned upon
to bump any threads older than 6 months in these forums and they typically get locked.
