My Xbox doesn't detect my external hard drive.

I recently unplugged my Xbox One for a while to take a break from it. I used to have an external hard drive (Seagate Backup 2TB) connected to it and it worked perfectly fine and never had any problems. When i re-connected my console, all wires and connections
same as before, it wouldn't even detect the hard drive for some reason. The actual hard drive works because I've connected to my laptop and it works fine there. The hard drive itself also senses that it's connected when it's connected to the console, but the
console doesn't seem to detect it. I've tried everything (power cycling my console, plugging it into different ports, checking the storage section to see if it was detected) but nothing works.

Detect external HD

My xbox one now won't detect my external Hard Drive.

External Hard drive was working for 9 months now xbox one doesn't detect it. Hard drive does show up when I plug it into my computer. I tried switching USB slots and hard reset nothing is working.

 

I am having almost same problem. Mine shows the external drive is there but now it won't show all the games on it. Ironically all the dlc on the external hard drive still works on the games on the system. I am part of xbox preview and was told that might
be the issue.

 

Hey SnipeYouDown97! Was the external hard drive plugged in when you unplugged the Xbox One? You may want to reformat the drive to see if that resolves the issue. Steps on that can be found
