do not worry if the xbox dies

then the hard drive should be fine. and you can transfer the memory or the whole hardrive to the new xbox

well unless you broke the hard drive too

If you buy the same type of Xbox, you can just move the hard drive over to the new console.

Your profile and downloaded content is all saved on Microsoft's servers. So you can just redownload all of that anyway. If you use the cloud service for your game saves you can reload them that way too. But there are ways to transfer everything to a new
console.
