    My Xbox controller isn't turning on but vibrates when plugged in


    My controller was perfect a couple days ago but when I tried to get on yesterday neither one of my controllers were working. I have one wired one and the one that comes with the Xbox but the wired one isn't even turning on and the other one isn't either but it vibrates when plugged in. I've tried charging it on the wireless charging port and I switched to plugging it in then I tried batteries but none turn it on. Idk how to fix it. And I also cleaned the inside and it's clean and still won't work helpppppp

    Hi Pisskink69, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    Since this is happening with multiple controllers it may mean that it's the console itself. Kindly perform the steps below:

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

    ​​​

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    2. Unplug the console on the wall outlet.

    3. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

    After that try again if it will now work.

    Hi,thank you for taking your time to lend some help, my controller is mainly a wireless one but it does support a wired connection too. I tried connecting it to the Xbox using a wire, but still the controller was yet not lighting up(Logo button). I did plug it to my laptop and to my surprise it turned on for a bit but then the light turned off and there was just vibrations occuring while it was plugged and now the light does not turn anymore when it's plugged to the laptop only vibrations.

    Update: Turns out vibration is turned ON for my system, but the controllers don't vibrate.

    So I guess the issue is really that when any controller is connected to my system, when it's supposed to vibrate, it turns off.

    If controller vibrations are distracting or make it hard to use your controller, you can adjust their intensity or turn them off completely.

    To change vibration, download the Xbox Accessories app from the Microsoft Store. Then, plug in your controller, open the app, and select
    Configure.

    • For an Xbox Elite Controller, select the configuration profile you want to change. Then select
      Edit > Vibration and move the sliders to adjust vibration settings.
    • For the Xbox Wireless Controller, select Turn on vibration to turn controller vibration on or off.
