My xbox claims that it can access all services and connect to the internet, but it can't

So my xbox's home screen has the bar on the right that says "connect to xbox live" and pressing it does nothing. Running a network test the xbox says "Your console is connected to the internet" but when I try to run any game the console decides instead that
it cannot synch data.

I can't access the store or any other online feature.

The console also incorrectly states that a friend of mine is online, which the desktop app contradicts, instead saying that the person is offline.

I have tried powercycling my router (belkin) my range extender (also beklin) my console, unplugging everything, using different networks, using a wired connection and just letting it sit for an hour and hoping it would fix the problem. Nothing has worked.

On weekends, I turn in my Xbox to play a game with my friends, and I have no problems then. But when the weekdays came, I couldn't access my live. It wouldn't let me connect. I login, and I test my network, and it says, "Can't connect to the Internet. If
you have a PC, try to connect to the Internet on it. You may have to work with your internet service provider (ISP) to fix your connection." I was able to access the Internet on all of my devices: tablet, computer, and phone. I looked up ways to solve this
problem and I tried these solutions, but they did not work. I am thinking it is because I have an Xbox One S. Can someone please help?

Can't connect to Gears of War 4 services on the PC - Yes my internet works and I can connect to all other services.

 

Nevermind, I logged out and back in as suggested here:
forums.xbox.com/.../2159173.aspx by Genesis1953 and everything is working perfectly. I'm dumb.

 

Try and just sign out of his profile , then back in ...if that dosent fix it , try this below....

go into settings and accounts and remove all the profiles , (make sure you have the email and password to get them back ) after you remove the profiles , shut the xbox down by holding the xbox logo on the console for 8 seconds till it powers down , while
it is off , unplug your modem and router for 30 seconds to clear them also , plug the modem and router back up and when they are online , turn the xbox back on , when it is all the way up , re add your main profile ...it may sit there and sync a little while
but all SHOULD be good afterwards ...

 

I'm getting this same issue, xbox won't connect to xbox live as of today. Will try removing the profile...

 

I had the same issue , it was fixed when i just signed out and signed in again. Now working perfect !

 

I had the same problem as OP. Per this thread, I removed my profile. When I went to add it back, I couldn't and got a "Try again later" error message. After a factory reset, I haven't been able to get the box working again because it can't successfully download
required updates. Not saying you shouldn't try the help suggested above, but in my case it created a different, equally problematic problem.

 

restarting router/modem,restarting xbox,unplugging xbox all did nothing deleting profile did nothing cause i cant connect to microsoft to re-add it.

mods please do your job and find out why this is and tell us please(likely to be last update).

i haven't used my xbox for a month and last i did it ran fine did update today and now its a brick.
