My xbox can't recognize my hdmi. Please help.

I bought an xbox one yesterday and unfortunately I could not get a signal on my tv through the hdmi. After some research I held the power and eject button for 10 seconds to boot it up at 480p. After completing the opening update and registration I
then go to the display settings and I could not change it to 720p or 1080p. For some reason when I put the setting to dvi instead of hdmi my tv then could change the picture to 1080p but my tv had no sound. So my question would be is there any way to keep
the setting to dvi and get sound? Maybe through some cables or a headset? I have no idea what I'm doing so I appreciate any help

Xbox One no signal erroe

My LED does not recognize my xbox one anymore. it happened after an update. I have tried almost everything from rebooting it to changing HDMI cables and everything. Please Help.

February Update

Since the February update, my xbox no longer recognizes the HDMI signal from my cable box. Please fix Microsoft!

Hi buddy.

There are a few options for getting sound. The Xbox One has an optical audio output on the back. Also you can plug a headset into the controller and get sound that way. If the controller is an older controller you'd have to get yourself a Stereo Headset
adapter, however the newer controllers have a headset port in them. These get game sound as well as chat.

My tv doesn't have an optical audio jack so I had to order a digital to analog audio converter with rca cables. After they arrive I should be able to plug them into my tv to get sound right? If that doesn't work I'll look into the headset.

I'm having the same problem. My TV is not recognizing the xbox one thru hdmi but it recognizes the cable box and computer. I've tried different hdmi ports on different TVs, it's not working properly. Somehow the xbox one can still turn on and off the TV.

*SIGH* NEW UPDATE: 1 minute audio and video for my TV signal works, the next it doesn't, as if it only works when it wants! I already checked that my HDMI cable hooked from my HD cable box to my XBox One isn't faulty, it worked
fine when I hooked it up only from the cable box to the TV. Other than that, I'm 100% certain all of my TV HDMI ports in use both audio and video are fine, so why am I still experiencing difficulties with my XBox One's TV app audio, yet it recognizes my devices
just fine? I even went into settings to double check, the only thing I find ironic is that it can't re-run an audio/video test, but the other onscreen TV commands weork, my XBox One recognizes my HD cable box. Unfortunately, still awaiting/require assistance
