    My Xbox can't read my disc


    Hello, I am having an issue with my Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 disc. Every time I attempt to play it on my Xbox it comes up with an error message 'Unable to read disc'. I have attempted to enquire about this to Activision but they have stopped people
    being able to contact them about this game. I have done all the tricks in the book to try and get it to work again but none have been successful. I have taken it round to other mates consoles and it still will not work. All of my mates who own this game have
    the same error as me and can not resolve the issue. Can you help me please?

    Listen to this man! I had this issue with several of my games and it instantly got fixed after I installed them. It is very easy to do and does not take very long.

    I got told by the support team to go this site and express my problem because I asked if they would be able to allow me to download the game off the marketplace for free or something similar and they directed me here so I don't quite know what to do. I don't
    really want to pay for the game twice? any views?

    Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to deal with this situation. I understand wholeheartedly how this could be frustrating. I suggest trying the steps on How
    to troubleshoot problems playing a disc on your Xbox One    .

    When you get the chance, give that a shot. If that does not resolve the issue however, it would mean that your console is in need of servicing as previously posted.

    Unfortunately it sounds like you may need to send the console in for repairs.

    First, sign in at Device Support and then select Register
    new device    . After you've registered, you’ll see the warranty status for your device. If it’s within warranty, repairs are free. If your device is out of warranty, you’ll be charged a repair fee.

    Sounds like the lens in your console responsible for reading your game disk is damaged and need to be repaired

    sorry to hear and sorry to say but it sound like your drive is gone and you have to send your console in to be repaired! Sometimes it can help to "hit the drive" but …….. better you use the warranty
