    my xbox can't detect my external hard disk


    hello , i have a big issue. ( sorry for my bad english)

    i was playing and i go black screen , when i have turned on her again she said that i had to choose the settings of my hard drive , so i choose the one for games . But now she doens't find it , and i have all my data in it . i tried all the solutions gaved
    but microsoft on the internet but no one worked . Somebody can help me please ? this is the most horrible issue i have seen

    Serious External Hard Drive Issues for Xbox One

    Since the update I can no longer detect my external hard disk. I spoke to microsoft support who did try just about everything to resolve the issue. After 3 hours of tinkering it was decided my xbox was faulty and needs replacing.

    Figured it out.

    Plugged it into my pc pressed Windows + X for disk management, it had to be initialized for the pc to read it. Then I plugged it back into my xbox which then detected it and I had to reformat my external hard drive.

    Workaround: While the console is off, disconnect the external hard drive, power on the console, connect to the wireless network, and reconnect the external hard drive.

    Indeed you can install a game to an external hard drive. Please follow these easy steps to start playing games from your external hard drive:

    Step 1.

    Power the Xbox and connect the external hard disk drive into the port (The Xbox should self-detect it).

    Step 2.

    Insert the game disk you want to install on the hard disk drive.

    Step 3.

    Highlight/hover over the game that is on the CD.

    Step 4.

    Press "Y" on your controller. (While still hovering over the game on the "home menu" and a window will appear prompting you to choose which hard disk to install or select on the external hard drive.

    Step 5.

    Select the external hard drive and wait until the game fully installs on the hard disk drive. Then you can play the game!
