My Xbox account is restricted even though I’m almost 18. How can I remove these restrictions?

Hello,
I created my Microsoft/Xbox account using my real birthdate: August 30, 2006. Now I’m nearly 19 years old, but my Xbox account still has restrictions like blocking certain communication features and content sharing. The system still considers my account as a “child account.”
I have already checked my profile settings, and I am not able to change my birthdate. I'm also not part of a Microsoft Family group, and I want to fully access all Xbox features like chatting, adding friends, and downloading user-generated content.

How can I request a manual update to remove the child account status, or do I need to wait until I turn 18? Is it possible to contact support with ID verification to fix this?

Hi Wiraphong, my name is Joel, I'm here to help you with any problems or questions you may have.

Wiraphong, however only you as a user or your parents can change the privacy settings of an account, to do this you must go to the link: https://account.xbox.com/settings You must place all the items that appear in the list in "Allow"

In case yours is a minor account, it will not allow you to make any changes to the settings from your account, you will need to have an adult include your account in a family group from the link: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/family-onli... and then that adult can make all the changes.

Note When you grant applications permissions on a limited console, they are saved only on that console. If you use multiple consoles, make sure you grant permissions to your applications on all of them.

If you are 17 and have parental restrictions on your account the parental account will need to remove those restrictions in order to allow you to purchase the content.

After you turn 18 you'll be able to promote your account to adult to remove the purchasing restrictions and no longer require a parental account.

as of 3 days ago I was streaming on twitch with no age restriction and how am I playing games that are only 18+ if it was my error on a age restricted account.. something happened as of recently not as of around 4 years ago when I opened the account

I’m having the same issue, I’ve set it to Always Allow when the child account age restriction was on. Then I set the age restriction to 18+ and tried again. Still get the same message.

It feels like the Fornite issue all over again, that somehow miraculously went away.

Yes the account is under 18, the site asks for the parent's account, and we enter in the appropriate information, username, password, etc. The log in is sucessful, yet the child account is still restricted from downloading the content. As I understand it-logging
in with the parent account should remove these restrictions. That is not happening.
