I recently bought a 500gb retailplus portable hard drive. I plugged it into my laptop and put some movies that are compatible with xbox on it and everything was fine. I plug it into my xbox and the light on the drive goes on but doesn't show up in the portable
drive section. I sent an email to support of the hard drive company and they told me most likely my xbox 360 slim doesn't give enough power through the USB ports to fully start up. is this true or is it something else? I think this is likely true so do you
know any things I can do to make it give more power, or maybe some type of product?

    thanks for your help

    :)

How much Hard Drive Space will The Xbox One games take exactly more or less then now?

More. Because games won't have to be compressed onto DVD discs like the 360, so that means all games can be made in 720p or 1080p NATIVELY, not sub-HD resolutions natively then upscaled to HD. My TDU2 install is about 6GB and that's from a DVD disc. Blu-ray
will be able to support much more storage capacity. Maybe about 15-30GB. Xbox One only comes with a 500GB HDD. I have a Slim 250gb and have only 84GB free. Remember the system will take some of that 500GB away, just like the Xbox 360 system leaves me with
only about 229GB out of the 250GB on my 360 Slim console.

My xbox 360 slim doesn't give enough power for my 500gb portable HD

Just coppied this from a support page:

Each USB port on the Xbox 360 console is protected by an over-current protection mechanism to reduce the risk of damage. An over-current situation may occur if the USB device that is attached to the Xbox 360 console tries to draw too much power from the
USB port. In these situations, the USB port will temporarily turn off to prevent damage. The USB port will reset after the device is disconnected.

Not a lot you can do as far as i know. It's also possible the hard drive is not compatible with the 360.

Even if it did work, you will only get 32gb of storage, not 500gb.
